Although I don't bank with NatWest personally, I have recently visited the Derby branch to sort out my late father's accounts with them. The service I received was excellent - efficient and totally empathetic to the situation. Everything was sorted quickly with the minimum of fuss. I do despair when I read some of the whinges here about "things ain't what they used to be" - it's 2024, keep up!

I feel sorry for the flack this branch has gotten, Google need to enforce a better review system because most of the 1 stars don't even have text or are pretty old now.

Anyway, my general experience at tis branch is ok, just above average. I tend to be asked if I need help or what I'm there for which is sometimes a bit frustrating as far as my autism goes, as I just want to use the self service machines. They tend to not bother if I have my wallet and card in hand, or some headphones on.

If there is one thing I can agree on with some of the more well rounded reviews, it's that there are sometimes staff talking to each other when they could be helping those who are in the waiting to be seen by someone. What you may not see though, is there are some spaces to the right of the entrance where you will be directed to for help, a room or two all the way at the back on the left, and I thing some through a door by the waiting area whi I think go upstairs. Also, you must consider the nature of someones visit before you commit about waiting ages, an elderly man needing help with his banking probably won't take as long as someone going in to say they might have been scammed or something.

I agree with many comments on here. They never have enough staff serving but always have two or three staff milling about. Seems to be a common theme with many banks these days - very poor customer focus. I get some customers can use and seek assistance with the self service facilities, but as a general rule customers visiting a physical branch are either not able to use these machines or require help a person from behind the counter. Another annoyance is the lack of opening hours - shut at 16:30 and 12:30 not even half day on a Saturday, closed every Sunday. Are they living in the 1950's or something! Sort it out otherwise you will lose good loyal customers.

Since the installation of the "self service" machines they only have two people on the cashiers desks, which means there is always a queue. Was waiting for 20 minutes on Saturday and gave up because I had somewhere to go. Gave feedback to one of the staff who said "we always just have two cashiers". Considering changing bank to somewhere I can actually get served within a reasonable amount of time - 20 minutes is far too long.

Great bank for communication , remember they go only deal with what you tell them

Been a customer for over 40 years with them and I don`t think I am going to be there much longer.
Because I chose to use cash and not internet banking, I now cannot get to my money over the counter on a Saturday. I don`t have time to find a Nat that is still open near where I work in the week, So I would like to draw money from my account at the weekend when I have got time to do this. But no Nat West do not have cashiers on a Saturday anymore but I can now go to the Post office and get my cash there.( but only if its below your card limit)
This and them trying to tell me how to run my account is the last straw.
Listen to your customer and you may not be bottom of the bank performance tables.

I’ve been with this bank when it was National Westminster 70 years today they treated me as an alien . I am disgusted with Donna Rowland at Headquarters Nat West. The pits ?❌.
