I have my car insured with this company and haven't had any issues, however, I am very disappointed with them.
I advised them of a change of my home address, simple, but I was very annoyed to see that in the amended policy they sent me informing me of my address details I have been charged £60.30 !!
I'm disgusted. How can you justify this charge?
When my policy comes up for renewal next year, I will be switching to another company.
Be aware of this if you are thinking of insuring your car with this company otherwise you may too fall victim to their very inflated hidden charges.

As is normal practice, Direct Dial advised that the annual cover for my car was shortly to expire. Everything was simple and straightforward. I need do nothing if I wished cover to continue. The outstanding aspect of this was that for the first time in 50 years of dealing with insurance companies the proposed increase in annual premium was reasonable.
I have not made a claim so cannot comment on their effectiveness in this regard, but if it is as efficient and reasonable as the administration, they have got me for life.

Do not recommend. They are misguiding, giving wrong information, each person my mum has spoken to said different thing about her car insurance. She made sure 3 times (as well as my aunt who was helping) that she can for definite drive her car. She was told yes and then mid through journey home from collecting her car they emailed saying she’s not insured and requested she send a proof of address (which she has already done twice) . They wouldn’t listen, then after a payment of nearly £700 (yesterday) they said she has to pay another £1400+ (today) to be insured and when mum said to cancel everything and that she will insure herself with another company , they said no she can’t and that she has to pay a fee to do that. Baring in mind , that according to them, she was NEVER ready to drive! They are also refusing to refund her initial nearly £700 she has paid yesterday!!
They wouldn’t accept her no claim discounts, despite that my mum has been driving for 16 years. She wanted to speak to the manager to clarify things (as the kept being told different information) they kept putting the phone down on her.
Absolutely disgusting. Avoid!

I have been with Dial Direct for a few years now and the service has been excellent. Although I have not had to make a claim I did need to avail of the RAC call out and it could not have been easier. The renewal price each year has been very competitive and when I searched for comparison quotes Dial Direct always came out on top which proved they don't just give low quotes to attract new customers. Their site is easy to navigate - very happy with the service.

Had to claim today as someone hit our car. I've spent 8 hours ringing round to get a courtesy car sorted that I pay extra for. Now trying to speak to them about what happens with my claim and if they've spoke to the other insurance but just being sent round to the same number but the same guy at the call center. Absolutely shocking service, they will leave you stranded if you're not careful.

If I could give no stars for this company I would. They cancelled my claim without any notice.. and asked for a ridiculous amount of information to verify me when they can do this myself. Do not even consider this company unless you want your time wasted. 0 stars.

Great company to deal with. Got house insurance as well as car insurance for myself and my partner so impressed, also got car insurance from them. House insurance had increased significantly this year but I did some comparisons and went back to them and they, as with the increase in car insurance last year, will always work with you to reduce the amount quoted as a loyal customer. Would highly recommend them.

Awful insurance company. I cancelled my policy but due to the incompetence of their customer services team the policy remained in place for a car I never owned. I tried to get my money back, but instead of refunding me they charged me more money in admin fees and ignored my emails and phone calls for weeks.

Edit: I was contacted today by a very helpful lady who went through all of the problems with me. I'm happy to accept that the initial issue with cancellation was a case of miscommunication and not incompetence. The lack of communication between then and now has been unfortunate but I'm very happy with resolution agreed today and commend the lady I spoke to for her exceptional customer service.
