Extremely Disappointing Experience with AXA Global Healthcare

As expats relocating to South Africa, my family and I sought out a reliable global health insurance provider, leading us to choose AXA Global Healthcare despite the slightly higher cost. Their reputable name and friendly sales team convinced us it was the right choice.

However, our experience quickly soured upon becoming official members. Despite submitting multiple claims, we encountered significant hurdles in receiving reimbursement. For instance:

After my daughter suffered an injury at school and required emergency room treatment, AXA refused reimbursement due to a technicalities regarding the "hospital's letterhead".

Similarly, when seeking medical care for my toddler's illness (a fever + a runny nose), the doctor and I dutifully completed extensive paperwork as requested, only to be denied coverage again on the grounds of "insufficient documentation".

Regrettably, these incidents are not isolated and I have other, basic claims. Despite numerous attempts to resolve the matter, AXA consistently presents unreasonable justifications for denying our claims, leaving us feeling frustrated and undervalued as customers. If I could give them -10 stars, I would definitely do so.
