Do yourself a favor and do NOT bank with this institution. You are better off having your money physically on you than using this bank. I can’t count how many times I’ve tried using my debit for random transactions and my card is blocked. Doesn’t matter if I give the institution the a day’s notice of “I am going to swipe my card for this specific transaction.” My debit card is always blocked for “Suspicious fraudulent transactions.” ITS ME MFS! I am, as the owner of the debit card, the fraudulent person using his own card to pay for food/or hotel or whatever I need MY money for.

God bless the workers who know me by name now because of the NUMBER of TIMES I am NOT able to use my debit card.

IF you’re military and NEED a bank in England, for the love of God, DO NOT use Community Bank! You’ll practically be UNABLE to use your money. You’ve been warned. I can’t even use my debit card now and I am once again, inconvenienced by Community Bank.

Any interactions I've dealt with were in person and at the station I was at. Any time I attempted to complete anything online, including accessing my account after PCS to continue to pay off a loan, my account somehow no longer existed. I have an outstanding loan however I can no longer access my account to make payments as it *doesn't show in their system*. I attempted to resolve the issue over the phone and the individual simply didnt hear me out and cut me of and said, "thank you, bye." Genuinely the worst bank you can work with. The headache involved doing anything online with them is beyond 2 bottles of wine worth.

Staff are usually nice and they genuinely try to help... but there are times you can see that they are poorly trained and do not care to be there. Their conversion rate is absolutely terrible. They no longer have pound accounts so its just pointless using them for direct deposits for rent. I got an account for the reason of getting rent set up easier. If you are new to the area, do not feel compelled to use them because of being closer. Do your research and look elsewhere. In my opinion, using banks in the local communities have been way easier to deal with than these guys. Would strongly not recommend them since their policy has changed to make you open a dollar account only to get smacked with their terrible conversion rate in paying your direct deposit manually. They use to be somewhat good to work with...

They charge over 2.4% to convert currency. And, they refused to cash a US government bond because I was the wrong category of service member. And, this is subsidised by the US government? Our military service members deserve better. I will never do business with a Bank of America, ever!

Absolutely terrible. They're website and app are amateur and poorly designed. Bank transfers are a pain to do, if they work at all. Conversion rate is abysmal.
Go with someone else instead. Don't waste your time here. Military deserve better than this.

We left this base last summer and they closed our accounts, as we asked, and we got mail saying it was closed and a cashiers check was attached. There was no check and I can’t get through on the phone to get the check. So the money left in our account is just gone? Just seems fishy. Do not recommend, go get a British bank or use an online account.

Trying to deposit a check became an absolute hassle. They have absolutely no common sense. If my current ID's match the name on the account, then obviously I'm an authorized customer, even if my ID is different that the one I opened with. Just let me deposit the check.
