Group if us,we're going to go in after work but 4 people were smoking in the entrance steps, one man swearing profusely. Surely there is a smoking area at the back ? We moved on .

After a long day working for a banking services provider I like to forget the trials of the day and relax with a quick drink, where better than 'the bank'?

The staff are polite and catering, the TVs are occupied with various sports and overall the beer is more than reasonably priced.

Great place, can't say much more.

Used to go in here when it was Yates as it is close to the bus station. However, we stopped going in as it was looking very tired, and to be honest, the people going in made us feel unsafe! We did a bit of shopping and were walking past to go to the other pubs we started to visit and noticed they had changed their name. So thought we would pop in for 1 and see if it had improved. Wow, what a difference! They have gutted the place. New carpet new seats, toilets that are fit for purpose. Thankfully they haven't put the cost on the beer prices. Very impressed with the work done. The bar staff were friendly and professional. I just hope they can keep the high standards that they have started with. Well done to everyone involved in this upgrade.
