Very bad service from the start.
Firstly, on reporting the accident my claim was not logged, only on calling the following evening did I discover this, knock on effect was a 2 day delay in getting my hire car delivered, meaning I had no transport for my job.
The recovery of vehicle from the accident was delayed over 2 hours from the time I was advised (1.19pm) by text and phone, with no communication, leaving me stranded in freezing conditions in the middle of nowhere until recovery finally arrived at 3.30pm.
VW Insurance then failed to advise me that an onwards recovery from my home to my chosen repair company was not included, until I again I called, causing a further delay of 5 days.
Rather irritated I called for an update over a week later, and was greeted by a sarcastic, bolshy and unhelpful claim handler to be told the assessor had not yet seen my car.
The woman sounded UK based this time.
On calling Volkswagen insurance you are faced with delays in getting through an infuriating slow automated voice system.
The call centre is based in South Africa and not alll of the staff have a good command of English and just follow procedures on screen.
While my early complaints were upheld and compensated (although only £90 was considered adequate by VW insurance for me losing near 2 working days) and the second recovery cost not changed, the upshot is inadequate service and problems continue nearly 3 weeks after my accident with my car still not repaired.
VW insurance is underwritinten by UK Insurance services and in my experience not worthy of being branded as VW Insurance, which most will perceive to be a premium insurance service, it is NOT!
It all appears to be done on the cheap, with Not UK based and in some cases inexperienced call handlers, which has caused me significant delay and stress, which to date remains unresolved.
