One notable review mentions the establishment's ability to accommodate large groups, with food being served together for couples, which is always a plus.

However, some guests have expressed disappointment with the portion sizes and the assumption that customers should order extra sides if they desire more. We met friends for Sunday lunch, so 6 of us in 3 couples. We ordered and paid as Couples - food came out together which was great however all our potatoes and veg came out together to share between the 6 of us, sadly only offering 2 roast potatoes each and not a great deal of veg each. When we asked for extra potatoes we were told we should have ordered and paid for more if we wanted them. Not a lot for Β£20 a head. Good chance to spend more and order pudding, which was lovely but a bit disappointing overall.

Stopped for lunch, overnight and breakfast either side of a nearby wedding. The room, converted from a tiny cottage (?) was charming and spacious, with a well stocked tea/ coffee facility. Food is good pub grub, I'd agree that 'Probably the Best Fries in the World?' probably are, but not for anyone on a diet!! Breakfast was a classic fry-up, but there's other choices too. The location, literally on the bank of the Thames, is a great one, probably best on a summers evening, rather than our wet day in late September, but such is life.

The pub makes a killing with parking fines.
We stopped at the parking for 5 minutes to unload the car after a long trip and we got a 160 pounds fine. Clearly there's someone from the pub checking when cars arrive in order to see if they can make a few extra bucks.

This is my first 1 star review ever in google maps.

If you go there, please consider going somewhere else.

23Sep24. Had dinner at the restaurant. Lovely place by the river. Nice decor, cosy seating. Had spicy beef chilly, rice and tortillas. Tasty. Friends had breaded scampi, chips and peas. Generous portion. The Eton mess sundae was lovely. Would come back.

My family went here for some lunch and the food choice was amazing. The menu wasn't miles long, but it seems there was something for nearly every taste. The portions were very sizely, and the food was incredible. I will more than likely return when I am next in the area.

The location and the Pub were very nice, the food not so much peas were cold on all 4 plates, the eggs were over cooked.
Parking is a little tight and then as most people do not carry cash you have to use the app, this is ok if the signal would work in the area, had to use the pub wifi to pay for parking

Popped in on our way home from Dorset to the midlands. It’s a very quaint pub. Lovely to sit outside when the weathers good. I had the bangers and mash which was lovely!. Husband had a burger which he thoroughly enjoyed. Great staff, lovely atmosphere and lovely location.
