I stayed with Atha Developments in St James Studios with my boyfriend. We lived in a Gold Studio apartment and paid the couples room rate, which we thought was amazing value for all the added features you get and amazing facilities. Our favourite was the Study room which is really cool and perfect for group projects at Uni and just generally a great place to work. We would 1000% recommend Atha Developments to any student our young professional looking for accommodation in Middlesbrough.

Been New to the area, the location is perfect to get to the university Campus. Super friendly and professional business who have a clear passion for the Middlesbrough area. The accommodation was spacious (being freakishly tall I fitted in the bed, shower and through doorways easily), Warm all year round and comfortable. With all the modern essentials installed. Spent a great 2 years and only left due to graduation.

Thank again for the happy memories and allowing me to rent with you guys. Could not recommend Atha Developments anymore!!

My son rented a flat in St James Studios for his final year at uni. I couldn't recommend them more highly. Jack, one of the directors who we dealt with the most, was absolutely fantastic - thoroughly professional, charming and hands-on - nothing was too much trouble. This is the gold standard of student/young professional accommodation - I wish it had been around when I was at university!

Hands down the best student accommodation around. Tom and Jack are absolutely awesome, and always on hand if needed. The two Sophie’s are equally as great, and a wizard in the office at emails. Thanks guys for a great year at St James.

The accommodation at Atha Developments is really impressive. The studio apartments by far exceeded anything else I have viewed in the area. They were immaculate, great quality and all of the communal areas were really fresh and clean. The cinema room is amazing and a real bonus find! Plus the guy who showed me around from Atha Developments was very informative and helpful too.

Far and away the best student accommodation for miles around! Highly recommended!

It's probably the best student accommodation in the area. Resonably sized room, clean and tidy, nice and helpful hosts, great location (very close to campus), really nothing to complain about. Had been an amazing two-year stay here during my Master course.

A really honest review on Atha Developments - I lived in the St James studios for 2 years, okay room size with double bed, good outlets and a really nice window (i was on first floor) shower and bathroom was so nice. My bed was extremely creaky so i'm sorry for those who were around me but it can't be helped, my fridge... oh my god my fridge it would turn on and buzz, the buzz hahaha prevented me from sleeping sometimes but oh well it is what it is. The fire alarms going off, i don't know who taught the people living there fire safety but the fire alarm went off every other week at ungodly hours with no explanation on if it was okay to be in the building or anything, even to the point i was emailing the landlords to do something which they didn't haha we love that. Also BEWARE about the council tax, make sure you get the term contract that ends right as your course ends. I got the shortest term contract and i'm still in the process of going through my council tax bill of £300 they claim they aren't responsible but i'm gonna be honest they are the whole reason i got that bill.
Oh and make sure you have some friends around you or you go out or host parties because you feel isolated as hell there on your own. (not good for depressed people i'm ngl)

I'd be wary about staying with them, i'm not gonna lie the price is just too bloody much for what you get (and they've put up the rent quite a bit since i was living there), it looks nice and it's right close to campus but that's about it. Go with a Uni accom like Cornel which is fantastic or get a student house. oh yeah and you only get a certain amount of electricity and heat there, there's a cap which when it exceeds you have to pay the extra. which honestly never happened to me but as i was leaving they were installing the meter things. oop and don't forget the room inspections, every 2 weeks there are meant to be inspections, for the first year i lived there they didn't do this, then for the second year more towards the end part they started inspections for damages and stuff like that.
The lasses who work in the office are lovely, especially sophie, she was an absolute gem.
Wouldn't live here again 🙂

Vaughan House is an amazing student accommodation, with great facilities and is very well furnished. It has double beds, an en-suite and a modern kitchen! It’s also a fairly new build and in a great location!

Honestly the best student accommodation I have came across, I’m very happy here! 😌
