Avoid Tesco Motor Insurance – Delayed Payments, Fraud Accusations & Complete Disregard for Customers

I strongly advise anyone considering Tesco Motor Insurance to stay away. My experience has been an absolute nightmare, with months of delays, unfair accusations, and complete disregard for my rights.

My Experience:
• Non-fault accident (October 2024) – My parked car was hit, and the third party admitted full liability.
• Car written off and removed by Copart – Yet Tesco refused to settle my claim.
• Fraud investigation launched by [Nico Signorile] Cert Cll Claims.

Tesco Motor Claims against me for no reason – I complied with everything they asked for, and no fraud was found.
• Over 5 months without a payout – I’ve had no vehicle, no compensation, and have been left to suffer financially.
• Severe stress and health issues caused by their misconduct – I’ve even had to take legal action.

I have escalated this to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) and Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) because Tesco has breached fair treatment regulations. They stall payments, accuse innocent customers of fraud, and show zero accountability.

🚨 Do yourself a favor – AVOID Tesco Motor Insurance at all costs. There are plenty of other insurers who actually care about their customers.

Nobody will fight your claim within this company. They will take the easiest option available to them. Often that is a split liability. Will actively try to not use any of there products in future.

When you have an accident they will never fight your case. Even when it's obvious what's happened. I'd recommend an established insurer with good reviews.

Uploaded my NCD to their portal. They cancelled the policy as they couldn't see it uploaded even though I also emailed it through.
Started another policy and they issued a cancellation for this as some details didn't match exactly with the previous cancelled policy. I had already phoned to clarify this and the underwriter made no note of it.

Will not use Tesco again for any product.

Dear Sir

We have recently settled a car accident claim, where by our car was written Off. However in-order to complete the DVLA V5C/3 item 9 Certificate of Declaration, the car has been bought by you 'The Insurers' who I understand intend to Break/Dismantle it. The document requires us to complete the New owner address and Vat number.

Quite a simple request you would think ! Not so I say, because no one in your Claims department knows the VAT number. I asked three of the desk staff and all said the same. One even replied " I don't need to bother it is not necessary!" at this time I asked for the Manager. Guess what no Manager was available to answer my enquiry.

Surely if you purchase all cars to be dismantled you need to know and give the company Vat number don't you!. All reputable companies have this number on their invoices, statements and letters. why is it a secret at Tesco Under writers?.

As I understand the DVLA need to claim back the vat, therefore withholding your VAT Number is obstructive which creates a most uneasy feeling which must be very uncomfortable for both staff and customers.

I suppose there are official site we could find the answer but I thought we would give you the benefit of a reply at least before the end of next week, in the hope your miscreant manager returns to their Post.

Poor customer service, wouldn’t recommend them after a saga with the company they employ to fit boxes to cars. Will not be renewing with this company and if there wasn’t a 80 pound charge to remove the box would happily cancel it now
