The staff face the challenges of using the Post Offices IT system.

For example the self service desk asks "Do you want to post a letter?" It suggests different prices based on weight.

After buying the stamp for that weight the staff point out that if you are using an A4 envelope to post the letter it will require more money despite being the same weight.

Join the queue to pay more.

Staff told me this miscommunication affects them at least 5 times per day if not more.

Hopeless software still making life difficult for postal staff.

Long queue, very slow moving, understaffed, the self-service machines weren't working and there was no assistance available. I had to leave to try another day.

the man behind the counter wasn’t happy I didn’t count the money I wanted to deposit which doesn’t make sense as he would technically need to count the money either way to confirm I am depositing the amount I claim I am. by that logic anyone can any deposit any amount? find another job if you’re so unhappy

for the Staff at the Richmond Post Office in George Street who have always been polite, friendly and helpful with everything I have gone to the PO to do.
Especially helpful was the day I used the PO Checking Service for my UK Passport renewal. I was immediately provided with a chair by one member of staff to sit at the counter for this process as I have difficulty/pain standing and walk with a stick. The member of the counter staff who checked my passport was super knowledgeable, efficient, accurate and very patient with me - I had recently been diagnosed with ASD/Autism and papers supporting this had to be included with the application. The member of Staff was so supportive of my (late) diagnosis which I was not expecting and I left feeling very happy with the whole process. The new Passport arrived without a hitch exactly 2 weeks after submission/acceptance at Richmond PO and so the service provided by the Post Office was well worth the extra money.
I cannot praise the knowledge of the Staff at Richmond PO highly enough.

One star for friendly staff. You have to queue for counter service if you have a QR barcode for pre-bought postage. Next time, I thought I would save time by pre-printing the label. But the self service machines won't scan the QR codes on those labels (only normal barcodes) so you have to queue again. There were 15 people in the queue including a drunk who smelt of urine. When Evri seems a luxury option you realise how low Royal Mail have sunk...
