I went to view a property on Tuesday, it went well I liked it so me and my partner decided to fill out the form and apply for the property to rent. We called them two days ago for an update and they said your application looks good the only issue may be your age… baring in mind it is against the law to discriminate against age. So that’s what I told them and they said once the landlord gets back to them we will receive a call back. This morning I get a email saying we can come view the property at 11am because there’s more viewings available as the property hasn’t been sold yet. (I assumed I got the email accidentally and it was sent out to everyone) shortly after I received a call saying the landlord has sold the property to someone he knows. Which was weird to me because online it says it’s available to view today at 11am!!! So I called the lady back and she said ‘oh really that’s weird’. (I knew they only rejected us because of our age and they didn’t have anyone else to rent the property to so they have kept the viewings open. ) she said what’s your name? And then said give me a second.. then she hung up the phone!!!! This is age discrimination and I will be taking this much either because it’s literally against the law!!! It’s hard enough as it is to find a house but then being discriminated! Me and my partner are hard working and earn more than enough to afford the property. The only issue was our age!

Wish there would be more stars to give. I have been with the agency for 4.5 years and all I can say that they are ever so friendly and helpful, always available, very professional and reliable. Never had any problem with them and they have truly represented my side not just the Landlady's.
I can highly recommend Hoppers, wish I could've stayed with them on my next tenancy.

I was asked by a member of staff how could they help me , I told them I was looking for a 1 bedroomed ground floor flat with a garden and that would allow dogs. Her reply was immediately "We have nothing and when they do come in they are like gold dust and go very quickly (and she ended with) you will be very lucky to find anything" (being told this and with the abrupt tone of her voice I then asked another question , but in all honesty I did not want to) "do you have any bungalows please" and after a quick search on her computer she replied "No". I stood there for a few minutes waiting to hear what help and assistance she could give. Realising that she had no enthusiasm or that she could just not be bothered , I asked her "how will I know when you have new properties in I am looking for" and she said "on the internet"

In all honesty I know I won't go back to her as she made no attempt at all to be at all interested.

I was expecting her to take details and keep me in the loop. Nothing at all.

We sold our property through Hooper Homes. We had another valuation of the property but they offered more than Hooper Homes did. We agreed with the valuation from Hooper Homes as it reflected the property. We listed the property last year and through the pandemic it has been a testing time. Matthew was great in listing the property, the comms, updates and regular visits of the property as it was empty. We had regular emails showing the stats of how well the listing was doing on Rightmove. The most important thing was he kept in regular contact during the process. I would definitely recommend Hooper Homes for the sale of your property - forget the rest!
