Received my European policy renewal notice and noticed it had increased by 35% to over £900 which was unacceptable.
I decided to carryout an online quote which came to over £600 but an acceptable level.
Contacted Avanti to find out why such a difference.
Gentleman I spoke to went through a full medical screening and came up with a quote of over £600 but slightly less than my online quote. It would appear that renewals do not take into account passages of time, so if you say a heart attack happened within the last six weeks(10 months ago) then the renewal notice will still say the same.
I accepted his quote and agreed a day and time for him to ring me back so payment could be taken, I also asked for the auto renewal on the original policy to be removed.
Did he ring me back? No he did not.
Did he remove the auto renewal? No he did not.
That really is annoying and poor customer service.

It was rectified with one phone call and a quote lower than the original which I had already decided was the best I could find on the market which met our needs.

Hello,
Sadly I lost my husband last year, a friend in Portugal invited me to stay. Unfortunately she had also lost her husband.
I needed travel insurance so started ringing around. Didn’t fancy any offers until Avanti. They were sympathetic and very pleasant to deal with. I then decided to use them for my holiday.
This week I had another invite to visit my friend in Portugal, very pleased so accepted. I went straight to Avanti and took out my travel insurance with them. The guy was friendly, helpful and polite. Thank you.

Just renewed my annual travel insurance for over 65s with Avanti. I needed to defer the start for 6 weeks and that was no problem. I made the arrangements by telephone with the helpful assistance of one of their representatives. All in all a straight forward and easy process.
