Barry (HSBC Eastleigh UK branch) was extremely helpful, friendly and addressed our issue immediately in a very prompt way. I was very happy with his service and he exceeded our expectations! The rest of the branch members were very friendly and polite as well! Thank you for looking after your customers in this way!

Tried to open an account for my foster child. Staff incredibly poorly trained, one said twice that I'm not on the birth certificate (I'm not the father obviously), said I need to provide explicit proof that I'm allowed to open an account for them. I had a letter from social services saying that we had been sent the birth certificate so we could open the account, but that somehow wasn't acceptable. Went back, another muppet wouldn't accept a specially written letter from social services saying we had the right to open her a bank account because the letter, addressed To Whom It May Concern as it was for the bank, didn't have our address on! Gave up , went elsewhere.

Had a very good experience in the branch today. The staff were very helpful and talked me through the details of what I needed to do. I do hope they don't close this branch, as it makes such a difference to speak to a human and have your questions answered properly.

Popped in the other day and had absolutely cracking service from the tall fella with long hair. Exceptional customer service and went above and beyond for me.

Not open for business any time that I'm not at work. I don't count one vaguely apologetic guy pointing you to machines as open. Doing alright though, so presumably they serve you champagne and oysters if you can actually catch them while they're open.

The staff are cheerful and enthusiastic but this is sadly now a "digital branch". In real world terms that means all counter services have been withdrawn, so nothing can be done on the premises that involves cash. As of August 2021 Southampton, Hythe and Park Gate are the closest full service branches and they are expected to remain so.

It's our local HSBC so don't close it. We need local bank branches where people can access real people with face to face problems. For most banks you still have to wait half an hour to reach a call centre that is not even in your own country with people that are working from a script. Your local branch can work outside that script. Besides not everyone is comfortable talking on a phone.
