I was impressed by the service provided by Sterling Insurance when obtaining a quote for my campervan. Jack was the person I spoke to on the phone and I found him to be articulate, well informed of the product and responsive to my queries and requests. The wait on hold could have been better, around ten minutes, but it was midday when phone lines would have been busy. After some tweaking of the quote I accepted the premium straightaway as it was much cheaper than other providers based on the same criteria. To conclude, I would recommend Sterling Insurance and Jack in particular for his customer focus and assistance. A quote from this company would assist anyone in making an informed decision about the best option. Many thanks!

Very helpful, patient and friendly service. Was very encouraged with the note to phone after doing an online comparison, this definitely ensured the best deal. I would recommend for any new drivers, the most competitive price for my daughter while she’s learning and lots of advice on what happens when test is passed! I was nervous of the process and was very pleased with the time taken to explain everything, much appreciated. Thank you.

Jackie was the lady who dealt with my quote. She was totally amazing. I explained to her that I find it really difficult if people speak really quickly on the phone - so Jackie told me she would speak slowly and if I did not understand anything she would explain it to me. Which she did. She treated me like a real person. I got a quote of Adrian Flux first and although I kept telling the girl on the phone to speak more slowly she did not. Today I spoke to Adrian Flux and they asked me why I did not take insurance out with them. I explained that Jackie treated me like a real person and not someone who needed to be rushed through. So Jackie is worth her weight in gold It’s really refreshing to be treated like a real person. Jackie is a Scottish lady and I know she has triplets as I told her I was a twin so she told me she had Triplets. I am an expat and live in New Zealand. I can not believe how expensive it is to insure yourself for a car here in the UK now - unbelievable. Every quote I got was in the several hundred pound region. I am not a young driver and have been driving since the age of 17 years old - I am now 61 years old. We drive on the same side of the road in New Zealand as the UK. I will have to look into this for the reasons why. Anyway WELL DONE JACKIE YOU WERE TOTALLY AMAZING AND SHOULD GET A PAY RISE!!!!!!

I first used Sterling for my eldest daughter a while ago, and they did a great job during the first two years. Now that my youngest daughter has just passed her driving test, I decided to reach out to Sterling again for a quote. The man I spoke to was incredibly helpful and did everything he could to get the best possible deal—and he didn’t disappoint.

Every time I’ve had a question or concern, Sterling’s service team has been nothing but kind, helpful, and cheerful. They really make you feel like nothing is too much trouble.

I’ve chosen Sterling again this time—not because they’re the cheapest, but because I know I’m in safe hands.

If I could give 0 stars I would!!
Needed to do something simple: just update my address. While I was at it, I also updated my job – which, for the record, is less risky than my previous one. Seems like a normal, responsible thing to do, right? Apparently not for Sterling Insurance.

Instead of handling this like a basic admin update, they decided I was now basically uninsurable. Yep – suddenly they “could no longer cover” me because of the new job, which makes no sense and smells like pure BS.

Their solution? Cancel my policy completely (even though I was 7 months into a 1-year no claims period) and start a brand new one. Bye-bye to the no claims I’d been building, and hello to a massively more expensive quote – for less risk. You couldn’t make it up.

So basically, do the right thing, be honest, and get punished for it. Sterling Insurance? More like Sterling Scam. I’ve cancelled with them and gone elsewhere, because they’re genuinely just taking the piss.

Avoid at all costs!!!

Hi,
My car insurance with Dial Direct of £440 was up on 3/6. I went online to renew it that night...only to be instructed that I could not renew it online for some reason. Phoned next morning to be told because I had missed the midnight deadline it was now £60 dearer. I declined and then moved to Sterling.
I had previously done a check with Compare NI and Sterling was giving me it at £363.08 plus £31 for breakdown...total of £394.08.
The total was also showing in my quotes was £394.08 with breakdown cover included.

When I clicked on to pay...it took me your web site...it was now a basic insurance price of £363.08 but scrolling down the add-ons breakdown cover was £70...making a total of £433.08.
When I phoned Sterling to complain she said the price of £433.08 was correct...and she could not understand where I had got the lower price.

There seems to be a disconnect between the price on Compare NI and your website!
Needless to say my year with Sterling will be the first and last.
Its only a means to an end for this year!

Excellent service. Extremely cheerful staff member helped me through the whole process. It took probably 45 minutes but I'm 66 and driving on a South African license which may have delayed things. All worth it, to be able to drive with fully comprehensive cover. Highly recommended
