Issues with a kemptown property.
We were seriously mislead with this property. We were shown round, while the agent was expressing how they were frustrated at how the flat was damaged by the last tenants and that it would be fully fixed before we moved in. When it gets to move in date, we are told the agent is off with covid (alongside pretty much everyone else in the office) and hadnt told anyone it was our move in date, if we'd paid, etc leaving us waiting in the property shop for ages. They also hadn't changed out the heavily tarnished mattress yet either, so we couldn't move in on our move in date. When we finally get to the flat, it smells, it's got stains everywhere and everything is broken, we were promised it wouldn't be that way. Later when we addressed these issues we were clearly patronised and told the cleaner had been there, (baring in mind, there was food and grime left everywhere and so much more, it was disgusting) and we were made to feel like it wasn't valid, so we are now stuck here for 6 months.

This review is for the sales team, I haven't had any interaction with the lettings side of things. Big thank you to Michael and his team at TPS for our recent flat sale. They took great photos and were happy to accommodate our input on the online listing but they really worked for their money when it came to viewings and the final stages of the sale. As we'd already moved out of the property they assisted with access for surveyors and recommended a reliable electrician when needed. They were also great at managing communications with our buyers.

From the very first viewing, it was clear that Michael wasn’t your typical agent, which was a huge relief after our previous experiences when viewing/putting in offers for other properties. He gave us space to think things over and never pressured us to put in an offer. We viewed the property a few times before moving in and Michael and the team were very accommodating.

Michael was always quick to answer any queries, and when things got a little slow towards the end of the sale, he was proactive in reaching out to the seller to keep everything on track. He was honest, friendly, approachable, and really helped make the whole process as stress-free as possible.

The Property Shop Brighton managed our building for several years, and unfortunately, they left it in a worse state than they found it. There was a complete lack of accountability regarding how our money was being spent, and transparency was virtually non-existent. Any works carried out were always rushed, and problems were rarely resolved properly.

Their reputation in Brighton speaks for itself—just ask around, and you’ll hear the same complaints. I highly recommend looking elsewhere for property management services.

It has been a pleasure renting a property with The Property Shop in Brighton. they were different from the other agencies.this is my second time i am getting a flat from the property shop . My first flat was single . After 1 year i plan to move to duble rooms flat for my family .They find the best duble rooms flat for me With in 2 days all the process completed. Next day i get the new flat keys . Lisel is amazing, very kind and has communicated with me quickly with all the information through out the whole process. She has been incredibly helpful,

I have had the unfortunate experience of having The Property Shop Brighton manage our building, and it has been nothing short of a nightmare. They were entrusted with the responsibility of managing our property, but things took a dramatic turn for the worse when they lost the freehold to the Crown. This has had devastating financial consequences for the 10 property owners, each of whom is now facing an unexpected bill of £5,300 due to their mismanagement. - a Total of £53,000

Since this incident, I've noticed an alarming influx of overly positive, potentially fake reviews for The Property Shop Brighton. It's clear that they are attempting to counter the growing dissatisfaction by flooding review sites with fabricated feedback, some even appearing to come from other local estate agents. It’s incredibly frustrating to see this misleading attempt to cover up their poor track record and to attempt to deceive potential clients.

In my experience, they have shown a complete lack of accountability, and I would strongly advise any property owner or potential client to think twice before trusting them with their property management.

The financial impact alone has been huge, but the lack of transparency and professionalism has left a bitter taste. The property owners involved are now left to clean up the mess they created, and it's disheartening to see them try to mislead others instead of taking responsibility.
