My experience with this property business was unfortunately very bad, we rented a property through them for 3 years and had many issues from faulty electrics to broken boiler and leaking bathroom. None of the issues were ever fixed correctly or completely and any attempt to communicate with their office was met with extreme rudeness, many times our complaints were handled with disdain and contempt by most of the staff. We have now bought our own property and as expected the deposit return was a stressful process, had I not made many phone calls to the DPS and emails to Parkinson’s to insist on a prompt return, I would still be waiting for the funds due to us. I would not recommend this business as a tenant looking for a reputable property management company.

Parkinson Property is the most horrible estate agent I have ever dealt with. They did not return my deposit until three months after I left. Despite my letters, emails,calls, they did not even try to respond. Also, I did not have hot water for 20 days when I was in the flat. They did not fix it. I received no compensation both for my late deposit return and hot water problem. The property manager was irresponsible and rude. Please beware of renting with this estate agent, the negative reviews are correct!!!!!

Rented with this property agent for 4 years.
Never missed a payment
Wherever there was an issue it took them so long to resolve it, for example left us with a hole in our roof for over six months, fences that lead to our property completely fallen down, the house was super dated had the same carpets in there since the house was built. Then have the cheek to keep security deposit when it was left clean and repainted and new carpets.
Never use these they are all for the landlord and not the tenant in the end.

In all of my experiences with estate agents, I’ve found Parkinson to be an anomaly. Every experience with them has been very negative. Whether it’s their interpersonal skills or doing the job they’re paid to do, they’ve failed every time. Rude, slow and inadequate. Don’t expect to get your rental deposit back either.

The worst letting agent I have ever encountered in UK, I’m a tenant and a landlord, I have encountered many different property agents in Lancaster and West Yorkshire, this is the worst I ever had, not only staffs are so rude from the very first day I signed the contract and paid my deposit first month rent and got the keys in their office, horrible attitude, and they didn’t tell me the basement is constantly flooded all year round before finalising the agreement, after 18 months I left the tenancy agreement and they even tried to not give me back my deposit, that was when I checked with the 3 deposit protection scheme agents I couldn’t find any information, I requested 4 times to get my deposit or the written information of my deposit protection scheme and dispute resolution service……they still never give me that information, finally returned my deposit after 2 months. Unbelievable
I will never use this agent again. I almost take this to Lancaster county court, if they let me wait another week.
It’s 0 star from me.

As a long term landlord I’ve had many poor experiences with other agents in Lancaster - thankfully I’ve now found Parkinson Property and can rest easy knowing that my properties are now being managed by very professional and dedicated staff!

The business owner himself - Andrew - came out to meet me the day after my enquiry to have a look at my portfolio and was very efficient and has an impressive knowledge of the local rental market, and helped me get the properties in shape and let out speedily. I was assigned a property manager to manage my properties which I often wasn’t with other agents, meaning I now have 1 point of contact for any issues and she’s been great so far.

Can’t recommend them enough!

I was struggling to get my deposit back and the landlord wanted to hold some of it back which I thought was unfair and hence disputed the claim. Ms Isobel burns at Parkinson mediated the dispute and helped to retrieve my entire deposit back, so cant thank her enough for being so fair. Besides this minor hiccup, during my entire period of stay, the agency have been very prompt with attending complaints and never had issues. Definitely would recommend them
