We've used the Parkmore on several occasions, ever since we spent our wedding night there, some 35 years ago. Different owners now, and this is reflected in the much more modern restaurant menu. It's a great blend of fusion food, along with some more recognisable, traditional dishes and some local specialities.

We went as a family of four passing through at the last minute so a last minute booking. For the price paid we were pleasantly surprised. The family room with two singles and a double was more than adequate. Ours overlooked the car park but this wasn’t an issue we had a good nights sleep, it was very quiet. We ate in the Birdcage restaurant for dinner and had a lovely meal, waitress was very friendly as were all the staff during our stay. Breakfast was nice but quite a few of the items we could not have as the food delivery hadn’t arrived, this was a little disappointing especially as the children wanted pancakes. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return. Thankyou for a lovely stay.

I stayed here with my wife for one night. If it had been longer then I'd have checked us out and gone somewhere else. I'm a BW diamond member and have to say that this is by far the worst BW hotel I've stayed in. Waited for ages to be checked in because the receptionist was also serving at the bar. A female that also worked there skipped into and out of the office and glanced at me but obviously had no intention on helping me at all. When I eventually went through the check-in process I asked if there were any upgrades available and was told there weren't any because the hotel was full. The hotel was clearly not full as the bar, restaurant, car park showed this clearly. Obviously I was being fobbed off because the receptionist didn't want to spend the extra 5 minutes changing my booking.

The 'double' room on the ground floor was about 2.5m x 2.5m and felt very cramped for two of us. It was adequately clean, no character, or any kind of thought going into the decor. Items like a crooked TV with two wires hanging down for the power and aerial just show a real lack of imagination or attention to detail. The bathroom was like heading back to the 70's with a shower curtain and just enough room to stand but nowhere to put your stuff when you get it out of a bathroom bag.

The entire hotel feels like it could do with a good clean but also some overdue investment to updating the whole place. Someone else put in their review that it felt like a hospital and I can relate to that because there is a real lack of anything on the walls, bland decoration where there is any. Combine this with the staff presence and you have a very soulless place.

Then there is the spa! Where do I start with this? This is a place that could be renovated to look spectacular, however, even basics aren't taken care of. When someone eventually appeared at the front desk to sign me in and give me a towel, you walk into the pool area in your shoes because this is allowed, and the changing rooms for both male and female are just basic communal changing with small benches. There are lockers with no locks on, so more of a pigeon hole with a door and not a locker. The whole area is well used and very under cleaned. Locals come in to use the facilities so it does get busy.
There are two hot tubs, one of which has fancy looking seats with head rests, but when I sat down on one the head rest fell apart because it was broken and had just been balanced back on. Many tiles are cracked and the whole swimming pool area just looks like it needs a really good clean. I used the gym which has some good equipment but is also in dire need of a really good clean. They had one spray bottle of some sort of disinfectant spray and a small amount of blue roll tissue which I used to clean the equipment before and after because everywhere feels so grubby. I spent some time on the running machine in the far left corner and was staring at a ceiling and corner of the wall covered in cobwebs giving further evidence that nothing is really well looked after. I did witness one of the staff coming in with a flannel and used the spray bottle to walk around and give the equipment a superficial clean, but using just this one small flannel isn't going to do the job at all so why bother. I'm a member of a gym back where I live and you get given a flannel when you go in, there are spray bottle stations all around the gym and signage to remind you to clean the equipment after use. When you leave the gym you throw your flannel into a bucket which then gets laundered. Yes, some lessons have been learned after Covid!

I won't be staying here again until I see a review that says that due to recent investment the hotel looks great!

We stayed for a friends birthday we wanted a hotel with a pool. Hotel room was clean but the pool area had seen better days the hydra pool at the back half the titles were coming off and very sharpe. Breastfast was nice you can only order one thing or you get charged extra. There was no muffins or pastries out when we went and when asked they didn’t have any in so breakfast was very simple.
