We have been badly let down by this company. From start to finish the communication has been completely unacceptable, on virtually every occasion I tried to contact our allocated accountant/s it took me sending multiple emails (often to other members of the team too) to get any response. A dialogue that should have taken days took months. We gave multiple points of feedback on the service, had multiple acknowledgements and apologies, even changing accountants at one point, but at no point did it ever improve. The final straw was finding out our bookkeeper a month after the event (and even then we hadn't been informed, we found out from an out of office reply). Even when I made a formal complaint it took weeks before anyone even acknowledged it, and several more weeks before getting any feedback. Having felt we had no choice but to leave, D&T are now refusing to refund thousands for work we paid for in advance, work that has not even been started. This feels nothing short of immoral. Their justification is that "you've signed a contract and we COULD do the work"...but how is it justifiable to keep a customer's money when they've been badly let down, they have no faith left in you, and the work hasn't even been started?!

My account handler Tom excellent giving great support. The registered office experience worked well. Sometimes lines of communication and who to speak was a little blurred. Their relationship with the franchisor was "interesting"... The work done preparing business plans wasn't great in that it did not translate into a workable plan from day 1 of trading!
It seemed more about securing finance!

Terrible company! They lie to you whenever it suits their purpose then tell you you are due them fees even though you have paid them on time every month for years. Then tell you they have historically undercharged you for years. They tried this tact when I informed them I was leaving them as their service was so bad. They are now threatening court action. I welcome this action as I will get an opportunity to point out how underhand and deceitful this company can be. Please avoid this company at all costs if you value you business at all. Carl Reader director refused to even contact me or take my call regarding my issues but puts himself out there as some great business guru and entrepreneur. False advertising is all I can say. I expected more from this company but I know lots of people in my industry who have similar story to mine. We are all talking about this company in my industry now and we are all starting to feel that we should warn everyone about this company now.

I had been with D&T for over 10 years, good service and communication. The 2 years prior to terminating with them the service was awful. No reply to emails or returning my calls for weeks. I can only imagine they had been taken over or under new management which would explain the rapidly declining service and rising prices. I'd advise to read recent reviews and not reviews from a few years ago to gain a glimpse at the service, or lack of, that you would be getting.

After several years of service preparing financial accounts and personal tax returns this firm let me down badly in the final year before termination. There was a complete lack of communication and failure to file my personal tax return. Nine written requests for confirmation that accounts and tax returns would be delivered were all ignored. At least four telephone conversations where assurances were given that the work would be completed on time turned out to be false. With just 10 weeks left to finish the accounts in time to meet the filing date I had no choice other than to terminate their services and appoint a new accountant. D&T had already missed the personal tax return filing date and not said anything to me so I was not prepared to trust them to deliver the financial accounts and company tax return. The fees had been paid in advance and have not been repaid despite many requests to do so from me and my franchisor. I received one condescending telephone call from D&T just prior to termination in which the caller tried to justify their errant ways.

I operate in the world of franchising. In this sector especially D&T are a name that can be trusted to deliver first class service, advice and guidance. They are switched on to the nuances of the sector and play a leading role within the British Franchise Association. I believe one or more of the SMT have served as a NED at the BFA. I rely on them for crystal clear facts which they deliver in a very timely and concise manner. More generally, they have their finger on the pulse of the business world and I look out for their regular missives and workshops which are always filled with useful, useable information that very often I would not have been aware of. I’ve never struggled to get a view, opinion or heads up on a direction I’m looking at in business from D&T. I think they are a first class team and I greatly value their support and efforts on my behalf. I rate them 5 Stars because there isn’t an option to rate them any more! Otherwise I would have give them 10 stars. They’re that good.
