I have recently closed my account with SBI after holding this account with them for around 5 years. The account was closed in May 2024 as there have been several instances of unprofessionalism by their staff. This all started many years ago, well before I even had an account with them. I had visited this branch for the first time as a youngster with my parents. The manager of the branch at the time was nothing more than an arrogant egotistical woman who acted like she was above people while also being abusive towards by making nasty comments towards children. I had opened this account around April - July of 2019 as my dad was pressuring me to open an account with them. I originally did not want to as I already bank with other banks in Leicester and I didn't think it was necessary to have an account with them. Around the time of the account opening, I was still in recovery as I had been released from the hospital in January 2019. Some of their staff berated me on multiple occasions during this time when I was unwell and still recovering. I tried to complain to the current branch manager, however, he wouldn't do anything until I gave him an ultimatum. More recently, on a visit to their branch this year, a member of staff, who was working at the counter service that day, berated me, accusing me of being broke and having no money whatsoever, which to me sounds like racism. At the end of April 2024, I visited the branch as I had misplaced my passport and I thought I might have left it in the branch during my last visit which was to use my passport to change my details in accordance with their policies. They suggested I check with the bus operator, which I did. The bus staff suggested I go to the local police station and inquire about it there, which I did. When I went to the police station, I mentioned the situation I was in, that I seemed to have misplaced my passport and that I thought I might have left it at the bank. They informed me that if a passport was turned in and handed to them that they would not be able to return it to the passport holder as all passports are the property of the HM Passport office, however, they seemed to advise me to check with the bank (SBI) again just to be sure. I went back and while the staff didn't say anything, it was very obvious that all the staff were becoming quite judgmental towards me. I never raised my voice at any of them even once. I am sorry, but I am not happy about the way they have dealt with certain situations like this. Now, I did mention this to customer services and the branch manager. In his response, the branch manager said and I quote "I'm sorry you feel that way" and "I have never come across such behaviour from any of the staff here" which is not an actual apology and it's just a way to try and blame the customer. Absolutely horrendous. I will never bank with them ever again.

I visited the branch on 6th Aug for documents attestation and NRI account and Rakesh Parekh was assigned for my work. The efficiency and professionalism demonstrated by him has made my banking experience smooth and enjoyable. He extended his working hours to support my work as I came from another city. I really thank him for putting in the extra effort during this busy time at work. Thanks to Harpreet as well for helping and guiding with documentation.

Horrible service!! My appointment was at 9.30am and despite reaching the bank 10 minutes earlier, I was still waiting until past 9.45am. The irony being I could see all the staff sitting together and chitchatting!! I approached them several times and was asked to wait 5 more minutes every time and I could literally see and hear them giggling and chatting! Very unprofessional and reckless behaviour!

I contacted SBI UK at Leicester, after trying to open an account with SBI Manchester (who weren't very forthcoming; I will leave it at that). I went to the Leicester branch, despite being further away for me. I would like to appreciate their banker, Mr Rakesh Parekh, who helped me with opening a business account. He's a very pleasant and courteous gentleman. Overall a very pleasant experience coupled with efficiency. The only thing I would like to request SBI UK is to improve their online banking interface to make it more user friendly.

Visited SBI UK Leicester branch for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. We were welcomed and seen by Jilna who was extremely knowledgeable and professional, she dealt with our complex banking requirements with a lot of patience. I would strongly advice opening an account if are planning to go india, was safe and easy using card to draw money. The service we received from Jilna was absolutely fantastic.
