Absolutely screwed me when I got rear-ended by a car, whilst on my motorbike. Didn't update me on the case for a year, then a few days before the deadline to handle the claim, they decided on going 50/50 and only informed me that the matter was done, I had no further say, and my premium was up 300% on previous. This was the last straw, I sold up and never rode a motorbike since.

Avoid Insuring Your Vehicle with Adrian Flux!

I strongly advise against insuring your vehicle with Adrian Flux. They are merely a broker and do not underwrite their own policies—which in itself isn’t an issue—but I have serious concerns about the companies they choose for their customers. Unfortunately, I had to renew with them for a second year, and here’s why.

In my first year, my insurer (through Adrian Flux) handled a minor, non-fault claim incredibly unprofessionally. The third party admitted liability, yet the claim dragged on for months. I made the mistake of letting Adrian Flux handle the repairs and recover costs from the third party’s insurer. This process took over a year because they continuously delayed matters. Worse still, trying to get updates was a nightmare—90% of my calls went unanswered, and when I did get through, I was often met with unhelpful, dismissive staff. On one occasion, I was even lied to by an agent who just wanted me off the phone.

Because the claim was still open at renewal time, it counted against me, making my premium with other insurers prohibitively high. I had no choice but to stick with Adrian Flux for another year on the promise of a rebate once the claim was settled. To their credit, they did honor that.

I should have left then—but I didn’t. I decided to switch at the next renewal. Big mistake!

In my second year, I was rear-ended, and again, the third party admitted full liability. This time, the contrast in service was shocking. The third party’s insurer, Direct Line, handled everything efficiently and professionally—an absolute breath of fresh air. In comparison, Adrian Flux felt shady, disorganised, and pushy, almost forcing me to let them manage the claim again. I refused and let Direct Line handle it, and I’m so glad I did.

This experience made me realise my mistake in ever going with a broker like Adrian Flux. Their service was slow, unprofessional, and difficult to deal with. I’ll never insure with them again, and I strongly recommend you don’t either.

AF offered a callback at a later time & date but failed to follow through. In handling the complaint (which highlighted this amongst other points), AF then failed to meet another callback proposed by themselves; explicitly as part of a complaint handling action. The client left waiting whilst being uninformed.
Wholly unprofessional - in business image & client consideration.
There is reason behind why meetings should be met when agreed and apologies issued when not.

Recommend Howdens & Swintons (as other brokers) to avoid such.

Firstly, my renewal quote for my house insurance was higher than any other!
Also, I asked them to remove a partner's name from the policy, for which they charged me £25 the reason given was to pay for printed documents. I didn't receive them, when I queried this I was told they sent me an email!!! Complete lie on their part, they did not offer a refund.
Cancelled the renewal!!!

I'm sorry if I ever recommended this car insurance to you. Complete scam, they prey on people who are too busy or have auto renewal set up so that they can make an extra £200 - £300 off you per renewal.

I just moved today and have nearly the same policy with another broker, but with the same insurancer for £400 less nearly.

I complained about the costs for my third year with them, which is 2024 and this was completely disregarded. They also fraudulently put incorrect dates on my renewal so that it seems as if I received it with 4 weeks' notice according to my online account.( I actually had to ask for the renewal quote multiple times then im writing via email see image dated 12th)

Yet when I asked them to stop attempting to take payment for the policy and send me confirmation of this via email/account they told me they can't email as my preference says all correspondence should be only via post. So where was my renewal by ONLY post?

Looking for good price for 1 year this is the place.

The policy was mis-sold regardless as they told me I had a certain type of insurance, which ensures low costs due to the age of my car and how long I keep it for. Lies don't fall for it

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Quoted me £450 online which I agreed and paid. Several days later they asked me to call them to validate the insurance and asked for an additional £380. On that basis I asked them to cancel the quote and to issue me with refund which they agreed to, but will be deducting an £80 admin fee out of it. This is despite the policy not being set up and being within the 14 day cooling off period. Absolute daylight robbery - NO NOT USE!

To start to get insurance may be great when it comes to make changes or cancel the insurance because you sold you old car or whatever reason! Good luck. They will have you!!! They like to keep you on the line for a very long time, I will not be surprised if that comes out to be a premium number too, I will never ever buy anything from this company again.

Very disappointing experience. I have had a shared classic car insured with these brokers for 15 years. We needed to change names on the policy, which was eventually issued as a new policy. I was told by the agent we could transfer our long no claims bonus. After taking out the policy on this advice I was then contacted to say the no claims bonus was not applicable and the cost would nearly double. I was then charged £60 to cancel the policy although it was sold to me on false pretences. I found a cheaper policy elsewhere. Avoid.
