We have been AIB customers for over 5 years now and anytime we needed support we got it. The customer service in the branch and over the phone has always been absolutely brilliant!
On Friday we went in and needed help with an international transfer. Our Advisor Tori did everything in her power to support us and helped us with filling everything in. It is people like her who make banking with AIB a real joy and we wouldn't go to any other bank.

Not great service. A little training in the area of how to speak with customers less patronizingly would not go amiss. Plus moving a little quicker and with a little energy would help. I have a business account with the bank and would genuinely be out of business if I moved at this speed. AIB - training required here.

I felt compelled to post this review as a result of the fantastic service provided by Joanne Kirkpatrick from this branch. My father is 95, in a wheelchair and resides in a nursing home but we had to travel to the University Road branch from Bangor as we were getting nowhere using the phone service. We were initially fobbed off but when I said that my father would be closing his account we were passed over to Joanne. Without going into the details Joanne raised another case for a missing ATM payment and gave us regular updates by phone. The case was resolved today and the money has been credited to my father's account. Joanne has demonstrated what good old fashioned customer service should be!

Had to close my bank account to return to Spain. Went in and the lady in the front desk took my details and got all sorted for me even though it took her a few questions with her colleagues and a few forms to fill up. I was a bit embarrassed because there were a couple of customers waiting but she stayed with me while filling up the forms to make sure I made no mistakes. I'm sure I would have made some.
I got the transfer in my Spanish bank account the same evening and the account was closed.
Really really helpful notwithstanding I was quitting the bank.

Genuinely awful customer service experience.

The office space itself is lovely and well renovated, but the service we received around trying to set up a joint account was hostile, confrontational, and very disappointing given that I have already been an established client of the bank for many years. We were kept in the foyer vs. consulted at a private location and we were bombarded with documentation proof questions immediately.

I had already called in advance of coming in person to ask what documentation would suffice and apparently was given incorrect advice, when we arrived they contradicted what we were told and basically told that we couldn't proceed with opening any account that day despite having passports, marriage certificates, proof of addresses as told on the phone. We were sent away with another list of things to collect. Service experience from the representative was professionally patronising. Seriously considering switching provider from the unpleasant customer experience alone.

Hardly any staff and old lady was made wait over an hour while staff picked who they wanted to deal with and most people with problems was sent to phones has there was only 2 girls working the floor.
They need more staff here and need to be willing to be more hands on with customers has most like my father tried the phone service before coming in and was forced onto phone again to be made wait nearly 2 hours after to speak to person has the phone person couldn't fix the problem has they couldn't understand over the phone.

The quick lodge service is very handy - just drop an envelope into the slot and I can be in and out in under 5 minutes.

Any time I have required to talk to staff they have been friendly, helpful and informative.

It's a shame there is typically only one window open so the queue builds up quickly and waiting times are sometimes long.

Love the updated design, it's very open and clearly laid out.

The branch has really inconvenient opening times as it closes early at 4.30pm during the week and isn't open at all at weekends.
