Come look at this spectacular church.
Brixworth is a fab village
Do the heritage tour.
Then a stop off at the George for a bar lunch. Very good value. And a friendly village.

All Saints Church Brixworth is a Grade 1 listed Anglo Saxon building founded in AD675 by one Cuthbald who became Bishop of Peterborough and is fantastic . In my opinion, Cuthbald still deserves three cheers today .
It can boast to be one of only three churches built to the Basilica plan in the country .
Although it has been added to through the centuries, it is still amongst the oldest and most important structures in England .
WOW, that's something to be proud of .
It is most certainly a beautiful church, as is the village beautiful too . It is a very scenic setting indeed, and it is well worth a visit .
The effigy in the Lady Chapel is said to be of one Sir John de Verdun, the son of Maud, the daughter of one Roger Mortimer . That is pretty cool, too .
A lot of Roman stone and brick tiles are incorporated into the structure said to have been brought from Towcester and Leicester .
In the west wall above the narthex door and below the triple arched window is another door that looks filled in now . Supposedly led to a gallery where relics were kept and displayed to the pilgrims who would have been below .
Outside, you will see the 10th Century Anglo Saxon stair turret, one of only four left in England . To me, this adds to the beauty and uniqueness of this place .

Very well maintained and preserved. Lots of positive energy.
Visit and parking is free.
However there is contactless card machine on entrance for church donations.

Amazing early saxon church with later Norman additions. Wonderful inside and out , great acoustics. Wonderful array of info booklets , and information. Do visit its a hidden gem

You'll see an interesting mix of styles and materials used at this church, and it is really old, so that's something to enjoy too. Visit on your bike and you'll have a nice ride downhill when you leave.

Beautiful church very old 680 AD. Very unusual In side and out. The decorations and design is simplistic but beautiful.
