Waste of money, time and effort

they will reply to your bad review quicker than just dealing with the claim

They will wriggle out of paying you anything

They will keep you running in circles with emails until you give up

I’ve given up on my small claim, it’s literally not worth the time to pursue it

That shows how much of a nightmare they are to deal with just for a SMALL claim (under £150)

I can’t imagine if i was relying on them for actually being covered in a serious situation

You might technically be covered but you will have to go to the ends of your patience to ever see a penny out of them

I think this kind of operation should be reported and shut down

This company and the real insurance company should be investigated - I will be filing a complaint to the relevant UK bodies for this shambles of an operation

Alpha travel insurance sells you a policy and then deflects all enquiries to a company called Collision after you have paid

I gave up on my claim for damage to my GoPro because the Collinson form doesn't include all of the options that are actually included in the policy

When I spoke to Alpha, they deflected to Collinson.

I couldn't be bothered with the back and forth so I gave up on that

I then experienced Bali belly 3 weeks ago and had to get a doctor visit me in my hotel in Bali, Indonesia - My cost was £130

Claiming this is the EXACT reason why a traveller would get a travel insurance policy, right?

Well I sent all information in a claim to Collinson, they have responded and said

"I can see from the details of your claim that the expenses you're claiming for were incurred in your home area, the policy doesn't provide cover for medical expenses within your home area."

I found no definition in my policy of "Home area" so I contacted Alpha, they again have deflected to Collinson

I have asked Collinson and after nearly a week they have said "Home area is the United Kingdom, please note that medical costs incurred in the UK will not be covered by the policy. If you need assistance or have any other questions, please contact us at..."

They are literally running me in circles, I urge you to avoid this company at all costs because they will completely waste your time when you actually need it.

If I could cancel this and get a refund I would but it is too late, I researched travel insurance companies for months before I left the UK and I'm really disappointed that I got this policy, it's a complete waste of money

I'm fortunate that it was a minor illness with a minor cost

All I can say is the customer service agent was extremely helpful & sorted out issues when the web site was playing up! Obviously can’t comment further as we haven’t yet traveled and hopefully won’t need their assistance but the policy purchasing process worked well and I asked for hard copies which arrived quickly. We’ve used Alpha for a few years & their prices are good & any medical issues easily sorted.

Absolute scammers. Website is good and "value" is good. However making a claim sucks, which is what you need the company for. My grandmother recently died and I contacted Alpha to make a claim. They were terrible at getting back to me and I needed an answer asap on what I should do to get home. In the end I had to rearrange travel plans and then they finally turned around and said they wouldn't cover me. Avoid like the plague.

Having used Alpha travel insurance for many years since my son and his family moved to America,I certainly will not be using them again.My connection from Charlotte to England had a mechanical fault and I was delayed for about 36 hours. Was given 2 taxi journeys to a hotel and a food voucher like many other people all paid for .I supplied Alpha with letters from the American Airline and all the tickets etc.But today they rejected the claim because they could not get any clarity on this because of data protection.what more can they expect people to do
