Over the years I have had a regularly used the services of the Ashingdon Post Office & shop facilities. This branch went the extra mile for me due to the sad loss of my husband .Over the last year they have been of immense service & support.and in my view they are a huge bonus to our community.

I toddled into the premises and joined the queue of pre-Xmas shoppers already waiting patiently to purchase varied Xmas-themed ephemera, all of us already gripped by the desperate Christmas mania prevalent across the land in these wintery December days.
Unstamped Christmas cards held in my hand I reached the counter and stated without preamble my purpose in this establishment: "I would like 15 second class stamps, please, my good fellow."
The postmaster turned away and, upon turning back, held two flimsy objects between his forefinger and thumb. "Would you like two books of 8?" he said.
"Go on, then," I said, silently marvelling at the high-pressure sales techniques these boys are trained to employ without you even realising it.
