'The millionaire, a sex trial and his battle for secrecy' (The Times 20/07/17). Asset Max is run by Tariq Khuja, who also runs a letting agency from the same address. Anyone considering using this company ought to Google his name first and see what comes up. There's stuff to do with his activities as landlord. Then there's stuff to do with Operation Bullfinch. Quote from The Times: 'As the four-month trial in 2013 neared its end, a defence barrister for one of the accused told jurors that they had been given only “part of the picture”. She asked them to think about men, including “Tariq Khuja”, who featured in the trial but were not in the dock … Jurors listened as the [13-yr-old] girl’s mother, when she gave evidence, recalled a conversation in which her young daughter told her that a man called Tariq who ran a lettings agency on Cowley Road in Oxford would be able to find her a flat when she came out of care. They also heard from her father. He said that the girl told her parents that “she’d been with Asians”, was “staying in houses in the Cowley area” and knew a man called Tariq who “procured properties” ...He owned properties in Iffley Road and Thomas Mews, Oxford. The girl told the court that she was sexually abused by a wealthy man called Tariq at flats in those locations. She said she thought that Tariq may have controlled the properties.' (End of quote.) No wonder he fought all the way to the Supreme Court to keep his name out of the papers.
