I needed to renew my insurance but when I rang them they just told me they’d be in touch with a quote but they never rang me. I rang them several times but the final time I rang the man on the phone kept repeating to me to calm down when I was perfectly calm, understandably I was frustrated with their lack of communication. As a woman, this felt very degrading and upsetting. They were all very unhelpful and rude. I have had 3 properties insurances with them for over 20 years and I will not be renewing my policies with them again. I have now found a cheaper and more efficient insurance broker.

They took my money for ten years knowing full well I'm not actually insured. And the first time I tried to claim for business interruption due to power failure from the power Grid. I was told I had to be closed for six hours before I could claim. Considering I only open for five hours at a time that's going to be difficult.

Anyway...
They sold to me van insurance policy. Next day they call and said I have to pay £650 extra on top of original £639... Im definitely refused, and they just charging me £90 fee fir nothing. Policy not even started yet, what about my rights? Did you heard about customer rights...
Looks like they just swindle people and if they do that to 100 or 1000 people a day... here you go, don't really need to do anything else, just keep charging a fees 7 days a week.

Absolutely terrible service.
I emailed more than a week ago to cancel a policy and had no reply so I telephoned them and spoke to one of their team who barely seemed awake. I asked when they would be replying to my email and he said he did not know!
They need to cancel the policy and issue the refund but they are absolutely useless. Avoid at all costs.

Avoid. I don't normally leave bad reviews, I try not to say anything if I don't have anything good to say. Policy was nothing in comparison to the competition. Whole experience felt like the customer is the enemy, to be treated with contempt, and to provide in the policy the absolute minimum required in every respect. Breakdown cover was unusually limited and couldn't be upgraded, would basically only help on the 7 sabath, in the 2nd full moon, when there was a k in the month. There are excessive charges at every possible point in the policy. Cancelled as I didn't feel comfortable once the documents came through (which u don't see before hand due to the web site being set up so u don't), they charge a £90 admin fee for ANY change to the policy, plus cancellation fee. In the end they charged £120 for 3 days on cover under a £220 policy. I'd rather pay it than stay with this bunch of crooks, I just dreaded the idea of what I'd have to deal with it I ever made a claim, I have no doubt what so ever they will try and get out of anything and pay u the absolute minimum possible. Won't be trying them again. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Cancelled my policy and was expecting a refund for the remainder of unsure insurance. Wrong, was charged £90 to cancel the policy. Assuming this took 1 second to hit the cancel button means an hourly rate of £324,000. Not bad. Always read the small print. Will not be using again. Amazing coincidence that the refund matched the cancellation fee to the penny!

I recently got a quote for home and contents insurance and was careful to be accurate giving details to the Bedford representative. I got a good price and purchased the insurance package. It was good thing that I checked my details carefully when I received my 'paperwork'. The representative had entered my responses to his questions incorrectly. After phoning Bedford to query this, they agreed to cancel the policy and issued a refund.
