Called in here to make a payment into my bank and use the Post Office as I had been in the area. Have to say this is a lovely little shop and well stocked. But...

I can't really say the customer service was welcoming or pleasant. I really got the impression that customers were a bit of an imposition, and any service was 'doing them a favour'; it isn't. It takes no effort to be polite to anyone, especially customers, who still continue to be polite in the face of rudeness. The atmosphere in the shop was palpable and there were even a few raised eyebrows in the queue at the treatment of other customers.

I wouldn't mind if I had asked for something difficult or out of the ordinary, but this was just a couple of basic services provided by the Post Office. These are services this business chooses to offer. I'm a bit stumped by the attitude from one particular staff member, but, thankfully there are other POs and shops to choose from.

It's a real shame as the stock and shop seems to be quite appealing.

Maybe they were having a bad day - but reading other reviews, it appears not.

Such a helpful Post Office, nothing is too much trouble! The shop itself has improved immeasurably too with a great range of food & drinks and lovely fresh sandwiches every day

I agree with the previous review. The new owners have invested and the shop is so much nicer than it was but the older blonde haired woman that works there is bordering on rude and most unwelcoming. The owners themselves are pleasant but are being let down by their employee. Such a shame when they’ve made such a big investment into their business and updated the offering to the village.

Used several times to send recorded delivery mail as the post office near to me have been shutdown. Very friendly staff, quick service. It's a corner shop also, so you can buy snacks and other stuff as well.
Some time it can get busy. There are several parking spaces. Good post office.

We used to use this PO regularly. For both postal services and also to buy food items - just to help a local business.
But, what has happened?
Yes, it looks a little nicer inside but where is the friendly customer service?
I was asked to comment on their meat items - was advised they are similar to Cheerbrooks - they are not. Cheerbrooks know how to deliver both quality items and excellent customer service. I said we found the bacon to be very salty. I was told, quite sharply "nobody else has mentioned this". Why ask for constructive criticism if you are not genuinley interested in feedback.
The people serving don't smile, don't engage in any chit chat and really give the impression that they are not overly pleased to see you. I think the fact the air conditioning was blasting out cold air on a cold December day suggests they are not keen for patrons to hang around.
I will continue to use the shop for postal services but will not buy anything else. It is understandably more expensive than the supermarkets but a smile and a friendly "hello" would perhaps make spending a fee extra pennies worth while.

Visited this amazing Village Post office and local convenience store. Obviously been totally refurbished to a very high standard . Lots of local quality produce on the shelf’s and the pies to die for . What a little gem x

Great asset for the village, the new owners have certainly made an effort to modernise the shop and its facilities but the one thing that let’s it down is the blonde middle aged woman who serves behind the desk I find un helpful not at all welcoming and sometimes just darn right rude so if I see she’s on duty I turn round and call in another time.

Vile vile vile person who works there!!
Very abrupt, not nice at all.
I had to go to collect a parcel it was thrown on the floor instead if being passed to me after they tried to give me someone else's parcel!!
Maybe they need a job not dealing with public?
