Bishopsteignton House was the perfect choice. The team, guided superbly by Carol, offer a professional, yet warm and caring, environment. Our nerves at placing our Grandfather into a new environment , very quickly, disappeared. We, as was our Grandfather, are over the moon.

My step father has been a resident at Bishopsteignton House since 2021. The care he has received has been nothing short of brilliant, both in the compassion shown and the patience and understanding he has received. Nothing is too much trouble for the carers and his preferences as to how he likes his cup of tea, breakfast, etc has been listen to and provided. I have never had any cause for concern and I take comfort from knowing that he is safe and well cared for.

My 95 year old Mum has been at Bishopsteignton House since July 2021. She struggles with very poor hearing and eyesight and is often reluctant to ask for help or to join in socially. She is a very fussy eater which caused me some concerns when she first moved in, but Mum is now eating well, thanks to the efforts of the staff.
We have found the staff to be very kind and supportive to both Mum and myself during this difficult period of change and I’m confident that she is well looked after.

After a lot of careful consideration and researching, we decided to move my grandad into this home, and we honestly couldn’t have wished for a better place. My grandad was unfortunately deteriorating rapidly at home, and needed help full time. He was fully aware of everything that was going on, but he was prone to numerous falls, and due to the worry for his safety, we decided on this home for the foreseeable future. So far he’s settled in so well. The staff are attentive and kind, and I love visiting him, and seeing him participating in activities and making friends with the other residents. It’s been a joy to see him settle in, and with the help of Carol and her wonderful team, my grandad is so happy, and I couldn’t have wished for more. Thank you.

My mother has recently left here after being here for nine weeks recovering from a severe broken ankle.
I have got to say the home itself is beautiful, well the room mum had was. Gorgeous views of the estuary if you're lucky enough to have a room that side. The care staff were all very friendly and supported my mother as best they could, However.......
The home should never have accepted mum as she needed two staff each time she needed personal care of any sort, not enough staff to accommodate this, although I was assured they were not short staffed. Agency staff used quite regularly. The care home is large and obviously there were other patients to attend to, mum was kept waiting over forty minutes on several occasions when needing the toilet. Medication administration was an issue to, I have just learnt that mum had an argument with a night staff, who said she had had her medication, mum was adamant she hadn't, guess what.. she hadn't. Mum was also sent home with two of her medications missing, fortunately I was visiting her the day after she was discharged, however she missed three doses due to this error. Bad Mistake.....

Wouldn't want my mother in here again.

My late grandmother lived there for a couple of years. They were some of her happiest times. The staff and manager were fantastic and couldn’t do enough for her. Beautiful home and setting, with the best staff we could have asked for.
