Basically you need to be an olympic athlete with not so much as a cold in your "medical history" that you forget to mention from 2014. Same old, happy to take your premium but will look for any "get out" they can to avoid paying. Don't even bother if you took their policy through a "broker"... Basically print off your medical history and send it to them BEFORE you take out the "peace of mind" that they sell... Because they will literally screw you over anything they can. So disingenuous they shouldn't be in business. Avoid.

If you enjoy wasting time and money, British Friendly is the right place for you. While handling my case, they asked me to change the terms of our agreement. When I asked them to point out the provisions in our existing agreement that allowed for this, they began ignoring me, and as a result, the benefit I had been paying for became impossible to claim. The conditions in the agreement allowed me to use the insurance after the first week, but it wasn't until a week later that I received the form to file the claim. I completed the claim in about two days, and my sick note from the doctor is expiring this coming Sunday ( after 1 month), but I still haven't received any money. Special thanks to the "career climber" and the claims manager. I have no money and neither the health to deal with people at this level.

Having seen the recent reviews I plan to find others who have experienced this awful service. Everything I have read from recent feedback experienced is entirely true and am currently watching my unwell husband claim or at least trying in vain to.... AVOID AT All COSTS..

This company is directed by cruel, inhuman, bad & fraud people. I have ongoing claim with them. I am injured and still not able to work. They have discontinued to make payment when I am living injured and have no any source of earning. They say income protection insurance, but they are not the income protection insurance on reality. The worse news is they are trying to get advantage of my ' Personal injury ' claim by forcing me to give details of my injury claim. They are not only stopping making payments but also trying to get advantage of ongoing claim with my future personal injury claim. But I am going to be homeless now because of this British friendly people.
This type of fraud company must be seized by government, otherwise we need to live in hell.
They keep cruel and rude staff like 'Colin Upton' who talks rudely on telephone conversations when I am sick and living injured. The staff doesn't have any friendliness. They don't have any humanity. They say they will pay less than half payment in the end but also forget to make payments on expected timetable. They forcefully stop the claim. They only say income protection, but they are different when we are injured and living with disabilities. They even don't make payment more than 11months although I have income protection insurance for 2yrs with them.
I suggest this British friendly to change the name ASAP because this word is insulting the value of friendly British Citizen.
I can see frequent one star reviews on here since last few months time.
This company must be blacklisted by government. This company does not have any basic standards.

Avoid !!

My experience so far with British friendly has been a very poor one.

I have a claim that has been ongoing since October. It is now February and they have finally gotten round to sorting my claim out.

After all of this time they have stated that I am not eligible.

I have been bed bound with a herniated disc for 2 months, ringing back and forth between British friendly and my doctors asking what the hold up is.

Now after months of waiting I am not eligible.
I was relying on the policy so much. I’ve used up my credit card and have not choice but to attempt being back at work even though I’m still injured and sore.

This whole ordeal has affected my mental health so badly.

If you are self employed, I advise looking elsewhere

Absolute Robdogs! Insured for £1000 a month and got paid £314. Whether i earn £50 a month or £5000 a month im paying to be insured for £1000 so thats what i should be paid if im off work so why should my earnings be taxed? Then the 1st 4wks off work they don't pay. A deferment its called. Apparently I was told this when I joined years ago but definitely wasn't otherwise I wouldn't have joined. I was off work 5wk so they paid me for a week. What a joke! Doesn't every1 expect to be paid for as long as they're off work? That's the whole point of paying in to schemes like this isn't it!? Oh and to top it off I was also told a deduction would be made because I apparently told the company late about my operation. Extremely bad company. PLEASE AVOID,PLEASE AVOID

I cancelled all policies as they do not provide any support, delay your claim just to come up with different excuses to not make a payment. Several other reviews pointing out this company mentioning preexisting conditions that did not exist. They are not asertive at all and have an understanding of what people goes through when they cannot work due to illness.
