Really impressed by BPIS. We had not heard of them and very few people I have spoken to have, regardless they provided a very efficient service and more importantly, handled the unexpected passing of our 10 month old puppy with respect and ease. They also liaised with vets directly which made our lives much easier in a difficult time.

I've been desperate to find somewhere to leave a review of British Pet Insurance as I cannot thank them enough for the ongoing support they have given myself and my horse.

Dealing with illness and injury in a pet is nothing short of awful but it breaks my heart when I hear that, on top of that, owners struggle claiming on insurance they've paid out to in good faith. British Pet Insurance have set a new standard for me. I've never had to claim for my horse and in the past 2 years, health-wise things have not been going smoothly for him. He's had everything from gastric ulcers to unexplained lameness to motor neurone disease - I honestly couldn't have made it up and with every heartbreak I've had, there's always been a friendly, helpful person at the end of the line. Never challenging or making things difficult, just looking for the right documents. There have been times when I've cried, laughed and been totally fed up but those at the end of the line are always professional, but more than that compassionate! Unlike many other insurers they seem to understand the trauma that is caused by having your pet diagnosed with these conditions.

Where they've needed to, they've followed up with the vets, keeping me in the loop but never putting pressure on me to do the running around or ask the complicated questions. They've supported every piece of advice the vet has given and I even got a phonecall off my vet practice to say they were so impressed with the timely and professional manner that British Pet Insurance deals with the claims. I cannot recommend British Pet Insurance enough and want to say an enormous thank you to all those who have been there for myself and my horse over the past few years. It is never nice having a sick animal but your compassion and diligence has made all the difference in helping him and myself to deal with this in the best way we can.

One of the few Insurance companies that insure exotic pets, ferrets, fish and lizards etc.
The have always been fair and in the rare occurance they couldn't cover the claim they fully explained why.
All my animal companions are covered by this company

Purchased a parrot that I was told had a bad clip. Took parrot to vet for check up and to see if they could use pinning to encourage feather growth. Vet took samples and a week later parrot was diagnosed with PBFD. This company cancelled my insurance saying that I had purchased this bird with PBFD knowingly. Who purchases a bird with PBFD especially because I have other birds in the house. Definitely wouldn't recommend

Not recommend on the reptile side, take your money off you, and dont want to pay out any money for anything, just there for money. Save your insurance money in your own banks
