Had to nip into the callington post office for the first time on the 24/04/25 and I wish I hadn't, a blonde woman behind the screen was so miserable and unfriendly, I'm a friendly person and tried to bring a conversation into me dropping off my parcel. They just didn't want to know and speak.
I felt like saying you miserable so & so, like if she didn't want to be there but had to be there. Hate people like that thankfully it was a rare visit. Just to fit up advice to ever she is, Work with some friendliness and a smile it's not hard

I was 3 seconds late with a first class letter asked if they could get it in the post that night for me. Woman behind the counter didn’t give me eye contact but just grunted. When I looked back I saw her smirk to the post office chap, that was there collecting the days post for delivery, who did the same. I sensed they wouldn’t put the letter in the post and they didn’t. I knew that they were a couple of pedants and jobs worth’s. As I write this, the letter still hasn’t arrived and it was important. Is this the first class world renown service that is the envy of the world?
At one time you could rely on the post office with your life but those days are definitely gone. It’s more like the service you would get in a developing country. You can’t account for poor quality staff and human beings I suppose. If I lived to a thousand I couldn’t do what those two individuals did because I like to think I have that old fashioned, but out of date, quality, integrity.
I will go to Tavistock Post office every time from now on and give this totally ineffective place an enormous swerve, in the future. At least I know that my mail is going to arrive if I use them because they have quality staff. I would suggest you do the same.

It would be good if they answered their phone once in a while, so we could try and resolve this over the phone.
My husband posted a parcel weighing just over half a kilo, with frozen items to get to Bristol by morning next day and was charged £27! I was posting for a friend who does the same and it costs £8.93!
The guaranteed 1pm service my husband was told may not arrive until 4pm! So this option was guaranteed to by there by 12am, despite it saying delivery by 9am my husband took that. I don't think we should be charged extra because they may not meet their obligations.
And we won't be paying £27 for another any time soon!

This is a very pleasant post office , responsive staff who have been polite and helpful so far. Compared to most franchised post offices in Plymouth(and i have used nearly all of them) this is not an attitude ridden surly rude ignorant war zone atmosphere . I like it here and well done.

No info on-line to say that PO closes early on Christmas Eve. On-line time says closes at 5.30 so I just drove 4 miles for nothing! Please update your website in future.

Poor service! Long waiting . Staff chatting and ignore customers. ( lady about 40 years old-don't know the name as they dont wear full uniforms!)
