I went for a free pension review from Christina Clegg Financial Planning Services. Didn't have a problem with the service they were very helpful, courteous and professional, but I just find their charges a bit excessive. They wanted £10K up front to do the switching from Royal London and going forward 0.7% per year. Presumably there will also be management fees charged by whichever company they recommend switching you to. I was listening to the Stephen Bartlett podcast about pensions and it said that over a lifetime on average paying out 2% of your pension in fees per year will take 28% of any profit you make on the investment. So am now looking at roboadvisers such as Moneyfarm, Pension Bee etc where the fees are a bit cheaper.
