City Estates has been the worst renting agency I have ever come across. Trying to get in contact with them is so difficult, as they ignore emails and barely answer the phone. I’ve read through the reviews and can whole heartedly say I agree with them all.
Aaron refused to give us a landlord reference claiming “we do not provide these” and ignored all contact from us and our new landlord. These people are only concerned about payments being made and their keys being returned once you say you want to leave. We were told a list of things would be fixed/replaced before we moved in - they were not. When our washing machine broke and pipe burst downstairs, nobody came to help or offered any advice. The property we lived in definitely had mold / damp that was just painted over. Aaron is extremely rude and patronising, not to mention incompetent when it comes to meeting the needs of tenants. Disgusting service and I’m so glad to be rid of their property.
If I could have left 0 stars then I would have.

PLEASE READ BEFORE AGREEING A TENANCY WITH CITY ESTATES LONDON:

Truly awful. They still owe me money back for the fact that on day 1 of moving into a property it was unfinished with gas leaks and the entire building was evacuated.
The property was a new refurb but has damp, sewage leaks, broken pipes and cracking walls. They were not reachable and force tenants to pay for any even if legally the landlord is responsible.

All the bad reviews here are true. Avoid this company at all costs! They are raking in money from some very posh properties in town and doing the square root of nothing in return. I'm a builder still owed money for work done last year(!), and they now have such a bad name that they struggle get anyone to work for them. Enough said.

I live Nextdoor to one of the properties they manage. I’ve never seen such a mess of a home, it’s been completed neglected for 2 years and their weeds have destroyed mine (and other neighbours) fences. When reporting the Alan, he’s continually found excuses to not get the garden tidied, and even when I sent images of an entire fence split in half, he said that it doesn’t look bad (see image). I can’t even repair the fence because of the 5 foot high weeds that are pushing against the fence. Plus I wouldn’t be allowed to anyway as it needs to be fitted from the neighbours garden and therefore I’d be trespassing. My experience dealing with Alan has not been positive, despite me being continually polite and even offering to pay to solve part of the issue, but he continues to ignore my messages. I believe if you’re going to work in a property management, you should be considerate of neighbours and passionate about your profession. If I can get this matter resolved then I would be happy to remove this review, but I’m not hopeful right now.

If it was possible to leave 0 star I would have.
Worst experience staying in their property
15a alcom close / oakfield road, Penge.
There were squirrels up in the artic which every day you’ll hear the noise and they eat the eletric wires. Which then leave you with no electricity for days, no since of
Urgency from Alan to fix this or get this repaired asap. So many issue with the property but never wanted to fix the property. We were left with holes in the apartment from some Jobs their maintenance guy did, and never wanted to fix this and stayed like this. Issue to give you back the deposit and make up reason why they’ve taken the money off your deposit with proof.
Not the best people to communicate with at all, I will advise renting else where and avoid these crooks.

They are very rude towards women and will talk over you and have no issue to call you out if your name. Believe they are also racist.

I am writing this review to express my deep disappointment with the extremely lack of professionalism exhibited by City Estates LTD in dealing with what seems to be a simple request. As a responsible tenant who pays rent on time and maintains the property in pristine condition, I have been met with utter frustration since April 2023 following a request to provide me with a copy of my apartment keys.

Despite numerous attempts, City Estates LTD has consistently failed to fulfill my request, demonstrating a disregard for their tenants' needs, and a lack of basic customer service. It is disheartening to see such an essential and straightforward requirement neglected repeatedly, especially considering that I have proven to be a reliable and respectful tenant.

It is imperative for any letting agency to prioritize the concerns and requests of their tenants. By continuously delaying the provision of my apartment keys, City Estates LTD has exhibited an alarming lack of professionalism and a disregard for tenant satisfaction, which doesn’t seems so out of the ordinary considering the previous reviews on this page.

I believe that it is crucial for tenants to be aware of the level of service they can expect from their property management agency. It is my sincere hope that this review will serve as a cautionary tale to prospective tenants who are considering renting through City Estates LTD.

I urge city Estates LTD to take immediate action to rectify this situation and provide the necessary letter of authority so I can cut a copy of my apartment keys. It is high time they uphold their responsibilities as a professional agency and treat their tenants with the respect and promptness they deserve.

My experience with City Estates LTD, has been marred by their consistent failure to address my legitimate request for a copy of my apartment keys. This lack of professionalism and disregard for tenant satisfaction is highly disappointing.
