Very bad service - after being with CVD for more than 15 years.
Renewal date was missed by 1 day due to bank hols and staff hols. Cover price increased by £600 because renewal not on time.
I appealed, CVD adamant that they would do nothing and happy to lose a customer. Insurance placed with another broker within an hour at the original price.

Great service, very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff. We had a technical issue with a hikvsion intercom product and they resolved it very quickly, we will definitely be making more purchases from Doris Cctv. Highly recommend. Thanks for your help guys!

I have always found them to be very helpfull knowlageable and courteus and they do always find me the very best quotes out there, they are a very reliable broker and very profesional, I couldnt recommend them highly enough. they repeatedly save me time effort and above all money 10 out of 10

Been a loyal customer for a few years, I have a couple of vans insured. I phoned up to add a driver, was quoted a ridiculous amount so they said they could requote using a different provider.

Bearing in mind I renewed 2 weeks ago for £1500, they are only refunding me £1000, I have lost £500 in less than 3 weeks all because I want to add a driver.

Scandalous! Try somewhere else. Will be cancelling all policies moving forwards with them.

MIS-SOLD, OMBUDSMAN INVOLVED & £110 CANCELLATION FEE - AVOID

Like taking a step back in time dealing with an unregulated back street shop.

Incompetent, poorly trained staff that can’t do the simplest of tasks, and utterly dreadful to deal with.

I was MIS SOLD a policy in the form of having a pretty much useless RAC breakdown policy chucked in and told it was “included” in the price.

Once realising, I complained, reminding them that chucking in an extra as included was banned about 8 years ago, so clients can make an informed decision - basically to stop clowns like Brightside and Commercial Vehicle Direct ripping you off…. NO REPLY. So I complained again. No reply. And again. But no reply. ALL communication ignored FOUR TIMES.

So I waited 8 weeks to the day so I could report them to the Ombudsman. Case was taken on and magically I got a reply from CVD. Within 24 HOURS. Laughable.

But wait.. I was told I should have checked my documents! So it was my fault after all!

Accompanied by a feeble attempt at apologising.. not for mis-selling me a policy I didn’t want or ask for, or for ignoring ALL complaints.. but that they were sorry I had reason to complain!

As I said, not capable of the simplest tasks in what is a generally very easy job.

I was given 50 quid as a “gesture”, as not allowed the 90 quid back that I gave them for the breakdown cover I didn’t ask for, then when I do cancel they take £110 quid. Yes £110. PLUS.. they retain their commission!
So.. a £645 policy canceled after FIVE MONTHS - I got back.. wait for it.. £70.
And part of that £645 was their fee for setting up the policy!

Parasitic, greedy, incompetent. Disgusting company.

Customer Relations person was Jayne Gustar. Completely useless, just made things worse actually!

NOTE - if you purchase insurance through a broker and you have to cancel for whatever reason, their cancellation fees are generally higher than when buying direct PLUS they will ALWAYS retain their commission fee they would’ve earned if the policy ran its full duration, ensuring they don’t miss out on a penny.

This isn’t the case when you buy through the insurer. It’s usually considerably less.

I have Public Liability Insurance, had Van, and also have buildings and contents with the Brightside group - ALL being taken elsewhere this year when lapsed. BRAVO CVD!

If I could give zero stars I would. Do not use this company. They want me to pay around £1500 to cancel a policy mid way through the year. What this company fail to tell you is that you actually have the pay the loan amount in full if you wanted to cancel. They have purposely taken 11 days to get back to me so another monthly payment is due. Please avoid them. I have reported them to the fca but imagine that most of their scamming ways are in the 30 pages of small print somewhere. I don’t know how they are even allowed to operate. Customers are obviously trusting them to find you the best insurance deal but what they are really doing is ripping you off. It will probably cost me more to try and issue a small claims against them for Mis-selling this whole insurance policy than it will to cancel the policy but they should really be more transparent about all the hidden fees and costs.

No wonder they have so many bad reviews.
They asked me for my bank details through phone when they know the calls are recorded (even the security code on the bank)
They charged me every month £120 and when u try to cancel the insurance they make you pay a fee of around £100
They said they dont keep records of customers bank details then how you charge me every month through my debit card?
