I recently used Crunch to submit a tax return for a partial year after moving abroad from the UK. The process was simple to understand, and the advisers were incredibly helpful. My tax return was filed successfully, and I'm even due a small tax refund, which is nice. Overall, I had a great experience with Crunch and would highly recommend their services.

A year ago this would have been 5 stars but the last year has been a train wreck.

My Year End was submitted 10 months late. This was apparently due to accounting issue, despite making it abundantly clear I had no interest in doing any accounting, and was assured everything would all be handled for me. Considering I pay them a monthly retainer to do my accounting, how any "accounting issue" is anything to do with me, is beyond me. If there was an issue, why was it not picked up sooner? What do they do for the monthly retainer? Why do I have to chase the accountant to do the job I pay them to do?

I spent several weeks back and forth, submitting bank statements, often the same documents over and over again, in order to get the situation resolved. Communication was, and still is, slow to non-existent, requiring constant chasing, and rarely receiving a meaningful response. A promise made is a promise broken, and they are seemingly incapable of sticking to any deadline or commitment.

Well over a month ago I instructed Crunch to prepare my accounts for me to leave, and STILL I have to chase them to let me go... with no end in sight at time of writing.

For the last 2 months I have been trying to address these issues with Crunch, and they have failed to rectify the situation time and time again. Just go somewhere else.

Andrea isn’t in my normal support team at Crunch but cheerfully picked up a complicated (for me ) foreign payment query. She carefully stepped through the process over a few days with me to get to a resolution. I’m very happy with her service and would recommend.

Signed up to crunch and spent £500 for a system what was never going to work for my business. After 5 months and calls with different people regarding the system we finally realised it was not applicable to my situation. All I received for £500 was about 3-4 phone calls. Asked for a refund and two months later they finally replied and offered me £50. Asked for this to be considered and they increased it to £100. Considering the amount of time I have already wasted with Crunch I cannot be bothered to argue. Before signing up ask as many questions as you can because you have to use their systems which may not work for your accounting process.

Very happy with the service and the support on every communication. I'm a sole trader but I've been working with them even before and they've been doing my self assessment for me aside from admin and consulting. Always amazing and effective with competitive rates and work quality.

Especial thanks to Ross for being so clear and helpful on this last call today

Completely unacceptable service. I have had many issues with Crunch (including some incorrect advice around Payroll which took a lot of work to unwind), and they have failed to file my accounts on time and are not responding to emails. If you're looking for a good online accounting service I would recommend using Xero or Quickbooks for your bookkeeping and TaxScouts for your tax returns, which is what I now do for my other business and it works out much cheaper.

Crunch - please return my calls and emails ASAP!!

This is the first experience I've had of having the best support from Crunch. Drey was very patient and spent a long time on the call with me talking through all the required amendments to prepare my accounts. It's a huge relief and all thanks to Drey. Thank you so much! 🙂 🙂
