Matt Williams and his team at Cypher are fantastic. They stand apart from many other local accountants as they offer a very competitive pricing structure without compromising on value. ALL of the people working on your accounts at Cypher are accountants (not juniors or trainees as in many firms). They are also a jolly good bunch of friendly people who make meetings enjoyable and insightful.

I moved my business to Cypher Accountancy Services on the 1st April 2020 and; it’s fair to say Matt and his team, hit the ground running as ‘Lockdown’ had just commenced and like most businesses, I was trying to figure out if my business could weather the storm.

I was impressed with Cypher from the offset with Digital documents all organized and easily accessible through an on-line portal but that was just the beginning. With Matt’s advice, expert knowledge, experience and just as importantly, his support and confidence, I was able to get my business back on track as he filled me with confidence to take action. We have three businesses as well as our personal tax looked after by Matt Williams and his team at Cypher accountants. When you think about accountants, I guess you just think about books being kept, filing your annual accounts and paying whatever tax is due. That just isn’t how it is with Cypher. We get regular meetings to discuss business matters, produce forecasts, action plan or go full on ‘business plan’ for projects… they have helped us to secure finance to grow our businesses; they are also willing allies in setting us up with appropriate contacts for not accountancy matters, for example referring us into their trusted network of other professions such as legal firms, financial planners… even down to decorators and a Handyman! To say that we feel like our business affairs are in good hands is an understatement. Thank you all

Cypher has been a revelation after the disappointing efforts of my previous accountants. Everything is electronic and up front, the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and available. Fantastic.

As an update to my previous review, I wanted to share how impressed I have been with the service received from Matt and his team during this unprecedented period during Covid. Whereas most accountants seem to have disappeared off the face of the planet, Cypher has been in regular contact, has set up a WhatsApp support group to advise on the ongoing Government advice and support, and has been absolutely as PROACTIVE as he always claims to be.

Definitely the best and most proactive accountant around. If you want my advice, take the plunge and join Matt and the team at Cypher whilst you can.

I've known Matt for some time and when he started Cypher I was more than happy to move with him. The systems and service just make the accounting aspect of running a business understandable and easy. No end of year bills as we pay monthly which is so much better. I would 100% recommend Matt and Cypher.

After years working with a traditional accounting firm, I became fed up with things being submitted at the last minute, receiving a ream of paperwork to sign every week, and feeling as though our accountants were doing the minimum to justify their retainer.

We took a bit of a gamble moving over to Cypher, and the difference has been night and day. The team are constantly refining and automating our financial systems, and despite being a small team they've helped us navigate everything from M&A activity, to R&D claims, winning awards, VAT group formations and complex restructures.

Above all, though, Matt and the team just 'get it'. They work with you to understand your goals and work backwards from that, rather than giving out cookie cutter advice.

They're not the cheapest accounting firm around, and frankly if I just needed basic statutory filings then I might even look elsewhere, but for any situation where you need an accountant that helps you get to where you want to go, they're a bit of a local gem!
