Tyres ordered via e-tyres BUT they didn't tell the guys here how to contact us. We were given an appointment for 14:00 which is their closing time.
Despite this manager and staff pulled out all the stops and stayed behind to fit them.

Came into today for two front tyres changed, all the staff were very helpful and good crack whilst I waited in the reception. Ashley in particular is a credit to the business. Highlighted a few points on my car that will need seen to and I trusted every word of it. Top notch service, top notch people. Trust every time.

I am truly saddened to write this review. I first bought tyres in 1987, at Denton Tyres, Sheffield Street, Carlisle. A wonderful, locally owned business, with consistently great service and keen prices. The lad in charge knew everyone and everything. I happily bought tyres there for decades.

Then it was taken over by Protyre.

I phoned up five days ago, ordered four winter tyres and booked to have them fitted. All good? No!

I arrived at the right time - 10:00 Saturday. Five customers were in the reception area. I spoke to the nice lad at the desk. He couldn't find my tyres. Then he managed to find two of them (not four). Then he had another look, and called the boss. Still only two tyres.

Another customer saw all this and calmly mentioned that she'd had exactly the same nonsense (her fourth visit. . . )

Still five people in reception.

Here's the worst . .. .For over 15 minutes, I didn't see or hear a single tyre being fitted. Back in the days of Denton Tyres, the air wrenches would've been going non-stop, cars would have been driving in and out. Today . . Nothing. Lights on, doors open, but zero useful activity.

The nice lad asked me if I could come back on Monday. I said that I had no confidence that the four tyres would be there, or even that the business would be open. After close to 40 years, I'm taking my business elsewhere.

As I say, I'm desperately sad to write this review. A smooth running, local business, taken over by a giant, and now utterly failing. Skip the social media and the hyped language. It's a tyre fitting shop. If it doesn't fit tyres, it's done for.

It says open till 4.00pm on saturday. Not so - after battling the traffic to get there they were finishing up at 2.15. Wont be going back.

Very busy as visited on a Saturday . Very friendly helpful , knowledgeable manager , I had to leave my car for an hour , but close to Carlisle Town centre so filled my waiting time in easily.

What a fantastic garage!!!!

Unfortunately i had an awful experience with Halfords who were totally incompetent.

So the next day i took my car down to Protyre on Sheffield Street in Carlisle and they couldn't of been more helpful.

They rectified all the mistakes and failings done by halfords and i drove away in complete reassurance.

I will not go anywhere else in the future.

I've been using these guys for a few years now.
But it's time for a change.
The second time, nice promises and words that later turn out to be lies. A few days ago, in another workshop of the same owner, I waited more than 2 hours to change 4 tires in my Toyota. Tires ordered and paid for online. An agreed time of assembly and a time of about 30 minutes too. And what? You arrive 15 minutes early because that's what they're asking you to do. And the second time the same situation. Despite the fact that you have an appointment for a specific time, no one respects it. Your time doesn't matter at all to these guys. I waited over an hour for someone to even want to drive my car into the garage. It took two hours and 10 minutes to change the tires. The least you expect is to be misled, I don't want to use a more explicit word.
I don't recommend it and I won't use it myself.

150 miles away from home on course to Scotland and i got a puncture. phoned a couple of other places first and was a minimum 6 hour wait. by accident found these guys and 30 mins later was back on my way with the puncture repaired at a very wallet friendly price. would definitely recommend them.
