Perfect for a swim in the river or walk along the bank. Plenty of easy entry points along the bank and also on the other side of the Thames opposite the meadow. Very popular so getting there early is recommended for sunny days. No amenities other than 2 very limited space car parks. Would be a 5 star if it had more parking.

Nestling between the road and river, Dumsey Meadows is a SSSI and grazing land. I walk there with an on lead reactive dog as it is fairly quiet, interesting sniffs with good visibility to keep a safe distance from others. There are 2 small car parks with 1st hour free, rubbish bin and poo bin.
But 3 stars only because
1. Sadly despite clear signage to keep dogs on leads, owners and dog walkers with multiple dogs let them run off lead.
2. Also there is a disappointing amount of poo not picked up which considering it's grazing for cattle is really unacceptable as both dogs and cattle can get nasty parasitic illnesses such as neosporosis.

the river is clean-ish. few dips or swims only on a hot day as the water is a bit cold!

Dumpsey meadow is on the Spelthorne side of Chertsey Bridge. A large open area with a pay as you go carpark or pedestrian access from the bank of the River Thames off Chertsey Bridge. Regularly has Belted Galloway cattle grazing and sometimes horses. Used daily by dog walkers, joggers and visitors on the Thames path.
