Fantastic customer service from Patz and Mark. They are welcoming, informative and so helpful. I couldn’t have asked for more and they couldn’t have been more caring. This is my go to for vehicle hire in future. The van hire was a reasonable cost as well. Very happy customer. 100 stars !!!! I will be recommending and look forward to seeing them again soon.

Poor service from start to finish, brought a huge car when asked for the smallest, left my 86 yr old nan sitting in from 10-6pm and didnt show up to collect the car and made it very difficult to end the hire. They thought not showing up was acceptable without any call or email to let us know.

Was meant to collect at 16:30 waited 20 mins in the office whilst staff were chatting to then finish taken all my details by 5pm and was told “the car was clean inside but you’ll have to wait another 10/15 mins for the outside” I took the car as did not want to be driving in the dark. The car stank of cigarettes when I have a 7 month old baby in the car, I then get pulled over by the police the next day and interrogated with my baby crying in the car and causing me to be late to drop her off and then to a KIT meeting at work with my new boss! Turns out the person before me had “done something extremely naughty” when taking the car back no manager to speak to or contact for a manager, we were collecting another car and requested manual… were told “we upgraded you to auto” we did not want auto as I had never driven one so asked for our requested manual to be told they don’t actually have one! So we were not “upgraded” we were given what was there… then we had to add my fiancé as a named driver as I was far to nervous to drive an auto for the first time with our baby in the car costing us another £160! To top it all off my fiancé signed for it all including my card whilst I was changing the baby, when he mentioned he wasn’t the card holder or the person taking the car out he was told “it doesn’t matter they won’t know”… been trying to call for 3 days on and off and always waiting at least an hour before I have to give up and try again later. Maybe one day I’ll speak to a manager!

Giving this branch a 1 star is too much. We were regular customers but no more. The customer service is terrible, apart from when Pat is on, she is amazing. They constantly change the time of your pick up (which is always hours after you need it), change the size of your van without informing you first which then costs more in fuel, over charge you on the mileage due to a staff member taking the mileage down wrong oh and giving you a van with no water in the coolant so you end up breaking down on the M23 with your young child! Oh and the latest, the branch manager cancelling your order at 4pm on a Friday because I said the customer service I had received was disgusting so I was accused of being abussive (that being the reason the branch manager cancelled it) even though Pat (staff member) did not think I had been oh and then after Pat spoke to the branch manager she changed her mind saying she didn’t mean abussive but still cancelled my booking!
Don’t worry though you didn’t ruin my weekend, I was able to get another van elsewhere who offered exceptional service.

EDIT: Europcar, i can categorical say that you will not be seeing us again. I have already reached out to your customer team with x2 complaints about this branch (only on Saturday) and the response I had back from you was as follows:
‘Having reviewed this matter, I would like to sincerely apologise that you were dissatisfied with the service provided to you. Upon investigating with the branch, we would not be in a position to provide any compensation.’
You clearly do not understand at all, It’s not about compensation, it’s about the customer service we received and the fact your branch manager told me I was being ‘abussive’ in what comes across as a reason for her to justify cancelling my booking and then retracted that statement to her staff member (Pat) so clearly she admitted that statement she accused me of was not true but yet you think that is acceptable. WOW

The worse experience ever! I don't ever recommend! They try to take my £250 for some defects of the van how already was there! I proof with pictures and a video , but they decided to not respond! Be careful with this company! I will never rent it out from this company ever! Worse experience ever since I'm in UK!!!

Great service. South African lady, walked me out to the car as it was 40m down the road.
Very happy with two Eirocar hires in last 10months.
Staff on phone very helpful, especially Elias when i changed return location at short notice.
EUROCAR is A million times better than Enterprise who franchise out some countries to idiots/rogues eg Austria of all places.

Do not under any circumstances book online unless directly on the company website. My rental was £300 but when I got to the counter I was told I had no insurance and had to pay a minimum of £420 extra for the privilege. I wasn’t even looking to save money; I just made what I figured was a regular rental. Infuriating.

UPDATE Sep 27: I ended up paying £900 for my reservation, despite making an initial booking for £300, paying upfront and receiving a confirmation email saying ‘Total Due: GBP0.00’. It’s virtually impossible to really make sense of what I have been charged and why, but two months later and my deposit has still not been returned, despite multiple expensive phone calls. Not saying this is the fault of the people in the Lancing branch, but it’s really a nightmare.
