A few years after I retired, I was landed with a complex pension/tax issue. Consequently, I needed a financial advisor to assist me and, after looking on line, I came across Financial Planning Partners.

Since the initial introductory meeting, my wife and I have nothing but praise for the firm as a whole and David Hearne in particular. Not only did he solve my initial complex pension issue but we have continued using FPP for advice on pensions and investments which they manage on our behalf professionally.

David Hearne has offered and continues to offer helpful advice in a gentle, non obtrusive manner. He assesses our evolving needs, level of acceptable risk and continues to competently oversee our investments. The once yearly review meetings are also very beneficial.

This firm comes thoroughly recommended by us. And..... by the way, the coffee is good too!

My main contact at FPP is with Andy Hearne and I cannot speak more highly of his service and attention to detail. We meet once a year for a full review, but I contact him at any time if a financial matter crops up. After my husband died, five years ago, FPP sorted out all my finances by explaining my options and working according to my wishes. When I have needed to realise investment, which has happened on two occasions, options to avoid excessive tax have always been explained and worked on. I am more than satisfied with the service provided. Indeed, belonging to the FPP ‘family’ gives me confidence that my finances are in good order and that I have a consolidated portfolio that is constantly monitored.

On top of management fees the FPP will charge 0.5% of your portfolio each year and have a one to one meeting online or in their premises every year to discuss your preferences or level of investment risk.
The FPP use Transact as their pension investment vehicle and this can be viewed online so you know how your portfolio is doing day by day if you wish.

This company charges several thousand pounds a year ongoing financial adviser charges when the real work is done by the Investment House such as the Prudential. When you deal with FPP you pay a substantial investment management charge to the Bond provider itself such as the Pru, thousands of pounds introduction fee for this firm to fill in a simple Bond Investment Form and then thousands of pounds annually to them for "ongoing financial advice" which in my case was non-existent. If you are thinking of using them tell them that you do not agree to pay ongoing advice charges which arem ludicrous when the investment provider does all of the work. The whole thing is a financial RIP-OFF
