Recently rented a property through this agency in Chatham. Absolutely lovely staff in the office. Ever so helpful. Respond to emails and phone calls quickly.
Would absolutely recommend this letting agency to anyone looking for a property, all staff are kind and help with everything they can.

Probably the very worst letting agency in the world. I stand by this as nothing short of the sad truth. Paul Higglesdon the manager is an arrogant, obtuse, unprofessional con man. We had evidence of him stealing money by backhanding his own friends in repairs, not informing us of his jobs, allowing subletting to go on within the property. He invited DSS tenants to the property under the guise of new tenants who lost their job. He cannot be reasoned with and we had to threaten legal action to gain back money for breaking our boiler with his cowboy associates. There is nothing redeemable about the man or his agency. If you want to lose money then go with GAP.

Really poor managing agent. ''managed'' in the loosest possible terms a flat block I lived at in Chatham in Kent. They received in excess of £10,000per annum in fees from the flats combined, and in over 20 years of owning the property they replaced the carpet once, decorated the communal areas once and painted the outside windows once. Over £200,000 in fees during that time. I questioned many, many times where this money sits and what they do with it and never got an answer.

There was mould on interior wall left untreated for months on end and is still not fully repaired.

They also charged me £600 for a property information pack when selling the property. This was no more than filling in a form that must have taken about 20minutes to complete. They also required me to pay an amount from 7 years ago relating to an unpaid amount for the exterior.

This company would be great if you are a landlord and looking to take a cut from your tenants management fees, but as a tenant looking for value for money you will be sorely disappointed.

However, the people that work there are quite nice and it’s not their fault the business is mainly focused on maximising profit from tenants, I am personally very very glad I no longer need to deal with this business.

I have known Paul and his Team for many years and have no hesitation in recommending Garrett, Anderson & Ptnrs to anyone who is thinking of purchasing, selling, or renting a property. I have always found this Company to be exceedingly reliable, with impressive negotiating skills, excellent communication and customer service, friendly and polite at all times, together with being, highly charged and motivated. Really shocked to read some of these reviews. Definitely not the experience I have had had. All staff are friendly and efficient whenever I have had to contact them. Have used this estate agents for years and have nothing but praise for the professional service they deliver. Wouldn't go anywhere else

Happy to take money, no interest in helping solve problems. Expect people to live with water in there flat, but no help offered. Utterly hopeless.

Re your comments below. What a shame it took numerous phone calls to bring about the action you describe. The initial response was “nothing we can do”.

I have found Garrett and Anderson to be a first class Letting Agent As a first time renter Iam amazed at how smoothly the whole process was. A few minor glitches were dealt with smoothly and professionaly and I can honestly say Iam very happy
