Honestly the most infuriating company to ever work with.

Any issue the building may have it’s suddenly the responsibility of the people who live here. I’ll give an example just for good measure. So, there was a suspect gas leak and the gas was turned off, which I’m completely compliant with as safety comes first. However, this was on a Friday night and on the Saturday morning Gateway emailed and stated it was our responsibility to turn our own gas metres on. First of all, it’s over a weekend and you think we can get a gas engineer out just like that over a weekend. Second, it was the buildings issue, which gateway control, how does it then become our problem to fix. You are in charge of the building, you short the issue.

Gateway seem to pass the blame and pass the responsibility but still keep their hand out and take our money. They keep upping their ground rent no issue and service charges but shy away from actually giving a damn about anyone that lives in their buildings.

There was another issue with the lift and actually is still an ongoing issue. The lift jolts when you’re in it, not a common thing but when you’re in it, gives a heart attack. I’ve had delivery men mention it and other residents in the flat. When you report this issue gateway make you feel like you’re crazy. One lady said to me that gateway said ‘ must be your imagination! ‘ How can a company manage a property makes its residents feel like that.

Little bit of a rant but just frustrating living in a flat building where I’m always paying for someone else’s issues/mistakes.

I’d take a look at myself if I was them.

The most dodgy, money grabbing, awful company I've ever come across. Do not move into a property managed by this company because you will regret it. We are paying extortionate yearly management fees for someone to come into our block of flats and hoover once a month. They do nothing else and take months to fix anything. They use any excuse to send random bills for random amounts of money throughout the year (not deducted off of our yearly bill). Very recently received a bill for nearly £400 including a late fee supposedly from 2021, called them to question it and was told "oh sorry that was an accident don't worry about it". Very expensive accident? Thank god we didn't pay it.

Avoid at all costs!

I've had an incredibly frustrating experience with Gateway Property Management. Their handling of my account and additional charges has been nothing short of appalling. Despite raising multiple maintenance issues and requesting clarifications on overspend, they were slow to respond (if at all), and the issues went unresolved for months.

Even after asking for a breakdown of the costs and a deferment of payment while awaiting answers, they continued to impose late fees and even threatened court action. Their lack of transparency, poor communication, and unwillingness to address valid concerns are unacceptable.

The management team never respond to email and even if you escalate to higher management no one bother to respond. I have emailed several times the COO Christina Williamson expressing my concerns, however she has never replied to my emails.

If you're looking for a management company that values customer service, avoid Gateway Property Management at all costs.

Slow to fix any errors on the estate.
Have sent out late payment fees for people that paid, then didn’t send out a correction letter or email rather waited for people to ring and complain before telling them.
Maintenance fee comes 3 weeks before Christmas with no option for monthly instalments.
No residents board approved on the estate.
Staff on the phone are usually pleasant hence not 1 star.
All other aspects the company is useless and a waste of our money.

Left speechless by their sheer lack of customer service. Their team are rude, sarcastic, and will gaslight you until the cows come home. Feel like banging my head through a wall after every unpleasant interaction I’ve had with them. No customer service, no other form of service, grounds are a total mess. They’ll take your money and make you cry - hard avoid ? they’ll also reply to your negative review saying your not a customer or “we can see this issue has now been resolved”. Cockamamy, gaslighting nonsense. A simple apology can go a long way in this day and age, do better for your customers Gateway. My review is one of 10’s if not 100’s of similarly worded reviews - do better.

Very responsive customer service from the Charlton Hayes, North Bristol management team. They were very supportive of my circumstances and even waived off the late payment penalty. They have just taken over from the previous management company First Port who were absolutely hopeless to say the least. A marked improvement from their predecessor and I hope to see a much better management of the estate under their leadership.
