Ideally located just around the corner from the Market Square, the Lodge is set up as a self service Air B&B style hotel.

We received the code to get inside but unfortunately not which room we were in! There was another couple frantically searching their emails for the same problem. Fortunately a call to the company led to the lady looking it up on the computer, hopefully this was just a glitch!

The communal area was welcoming and nicely decorated for Christmas with a lounge to sit down and read a book. Our room was clean and had an en-suite shower, sink and toilet. Personally we found the mattress too soft and springy and the quilt was really, really thin which was not good as temperatures were -2C and no extra blanket in the wardrobe. However I spoke to the maid the next day and she helpfully found me one, so the second night was much warmer.

On our day of departure, it had snowed heavily overnight so our car got stuck in the car park. I did call to see if they had a shovel available but sadly not. I did manage to borrow one from Michael, the very helpful and friendly next door neighbour who used to run the Lodge.

Good value for money despite the hiccups.

We stayed overnight in the suite. The room had a bed on the ground floor and a lounge and large bathroom on the first floor. The room was very comfortable and clean with a view towards the village. On site parking was available which is unusual in the village. It was only a couple of minute walk to the Main Street. The lodge has a separate snug on the ground floor with tea/ coffee and information etc. We really enjoyed our stay and have no hesitation in recommending it. Communication with the owner was really good

The room was clean. We had the front room which had a nice view. Bed felt a bit too soft. The shower was a good electric Mira but only a single, so quite tight. Plenty of tea, coffee etc & fridge with water in. Basic but overall slept well. A little pricey for what it was. Needs a bit more updating. Self check in as well. No breakfast but Cobblestones Cafe makes excellent breakfasts.

We stayed at Grassington Lodge years ago on a number of occasions when Diane and her husband took over the business. It was one of our favourite places to stay. Sumptuous, convenient for pubs and eateries and glorious Yorkshire breakfasts. Diane was a super host who won Four in a Bed and appeared along with the previous owner of the Lodge. The business model has changed and the type of offering features on Four in a Bed these days. It probably wouldn't appeal to us now but staying here gives visitors access to a wonderful village and some of the best Yorkshire ale!

Very cosy room and a convenient place to stay. We came to see what the original featured location in all creatures great and small looks like and it was 1 min walk from the lodge. The famous pub and cafes for breakfast. It was perfect.

The hotel was very clean, spacious, warm, comfortable and excellent value for money. We will definitely be staying again. ||Located within the middle of Grassington with great free parking meaning we could access all the local pubs and shops.

We booked here for one night whilst walking in the area.|The rooms are all listed as having a private bathroom - which is true. What it doesn't tell you is whilst the majority of rooms have an en suite, 3 of the rooms have a separate bathroom.|I have no issue with rooms having a separate bathroom as long as you're made aware of that and can choose accordingly. |As someone who gets up in the night, I don't want to be unlocking one door and going up some steps to unlock another door to go to the loo. |What was doubly annoying is there was only one other room occupied and it was the one next to our bathroom and opposite our bedroom, giving us every chance of coming face to face with a randomer en route. |Why put the only occupants in a 12 room hotel in the rooms closest to each other?|Also, the room we were put in was one of two dog friendly rooms in the hotel, when we are not travelling with a dog. I appreciate the need for dog friendly rooms but again - make people aware that's what you're booking them into.

Ten of us used this place over the 1940's weekend and we have booked for next year too because the service was excellent. There is no reception but there were staff there cleaning the rooms who were very helpful. Each room is different so I will review only my room Vendale 2 - which is upstairs in a separate building. The beds were very comfy and the bedding good quality, the place was very clean and there was good space for our clothes etc No breakfast sadly but most of the rooms have a fridge and kettle with tea and coffee. The location is excellent just at the end of the main street, and there is a lounge and outside seating where we were able to meet up with our friends. The communication from the owner was fine - the keys are all in lockboxes with codes. We enjoyed our stay.
