What can you say about green lanes? It’s a mess half the shops are closed. It doesn’t really do a lot for the town. It’s a shame it could be so much better. They need to invest some money into when you’re walking for a building and there is buckets on the floor Catching the water from the leaks. This is not a good image. Another place that seems to have so much potential, but nothing seems to happen it’s a shame. 🙁🙁

I wish they would put a sign on or near the lifts when one of the parking meters is out of order! It is so frustrating going to pay and finding it out of order and having to carry your shopping or traipse to a different floor and machine, when it could be easily avoided by a sign to notify green lanes car park users that a machine on a certain floor is out of order. I don't mind a walk but a sign to let customers know would be helpful. 🚗

Otherwise, it is handy to park at the shopping centre in the middle of Barnstaple. It's not the biggest shopping centre but there are various shops and there is toilet facilities also.

A good Barnstaple shopping experience. You can get straight from the reasonably priced Green Lanes multi story car-parking straight into the covered over shopping lanes with some decent shops. You can leave the Green Lanes straight into the pedestrianised high street with the usual array of shops and charity shops but there are some good independent retailers which make for a better than average shopping experience in a compact area. Well worth a visit for some retail therapy, local pubs and eateries.

Like other centers now, some empty shops but good selection still available.
Flooring under replacement tiles, but does not interfere with movement around.

In desperate need of some updates and renovations. The flooring mainly is a huge problem, being uneven and not marked as hazardous. Witnessed a lady trip on an uneven part and security witnessed too and did nothing to assist her. Have been back again since and the area still hasn't been marked. Watch your step.

Update May 2025 ... the flooring in the whole centre currently being replaced. Much safer and with a more modern look. Good work.

This shopping centre was built in 1991 & it has a few structural issues, however it has many different outlets, retail, cafe, where the general public can meet, shop, have something, catch up with each others news when they are in Barnstaple, N. Devon.

Shopping centre in Barnstaple. We took a short cut through it. It has a variety of shops with a Lounges restaurant at one end, which we visited.
