As a foreigner, I rely on my accountant to inform me when to submit details of income and expenditure to prepare for tax return.
Unfortunately, my accountant overlooked, and I was penalized for late submission. Instead of apologizing for his mistake, my accountant argued that the responsibility lied with me. He offered to pay half of the penalty "out of goodwill".
Now my record is tarnished forever. No amount of compensation can undo the unnecessary damage.
I am disappointed.
