An Outstanding Benefit – Worth Every Penny

I’ve been using this benefit for at least six years now, fully self-funded, and I can confidently say it’s the best investment I make in my wellbeing.

In my line of work, I manage employee benefits, so I view this from two perspectives: as an end user and as a business professional.

From a personal perspective:
As an end user, this benefit is invaluable. It covers my physical health needs, dental care, annual eye exams, and even the cost of consultations. It’s reliable, comprehensive, and absolutely worth every penny.

From a business perspective:
This is one of the most appreciated benefits we offer. Employees love it, and it provides a practical, reliable service that demonstrates clear value.

It’s truly a win-win—great for individuals and for businesses alike. I couldn’t recommend it enough.

Will

Failed to pay out based on a NHS approved procedure for tongue tie carried out by the NHS recommended and qualified specialist. Stating the qualifications didn’t match their list. Their list states it needs to be a GP carrying out the procedure, no GP will do it. They refer to these specialists. Awful scheme that will look for more ways to not pay than pay. Companies beware there are far better schemes out there.

UPDATE: following the response from Ellie below I called to discuss my review. Ellie wasn’t available, so I spoke with another team member. I said that I would raise the matter as a complaint so that it could follow the formal process. In doing so I received one of the worse responses to a complaint that I have ever seen from a professional company.

The response included personal slants on the conversations I’d had including stating that I hadn’t mentioned raising a complaint in any of my previous conversations. Of course I hadn’t, I was trying to resolve the issue. Thoroughly disappointed with the handling of this and the outcome. I refer to my previous comments, please try elsewhere before using this company.

Further update-something very odd is going on as they have received a slew of recent positive reviews to counter their previously terrible star rating. A large amount posted 2 months ago looks very suspicious!!

Been with Health Shield for 2 years!! Never had an issue. Recently my wife joined and had some dental work done. I called them as I received a response from them within one day as I made an error on the form. Sorted it out over the phone. Quick, simple, easy, spoke to a human who was able to assist. They Don't pay out! - Everytime I submit something to them they have a reason to decline the reimbursement. One reason was because they couldn't prove payment when I attached my bank statement but the supplier name looked funny on the statement. I had no other way of confirming it to them so gave up as it was 60 pound physio bill. Then just recently I have been declined a sports massage reimbursement despite the fact that this was recommended by a work colleague who used same supplier and same sports masseuse. How do they make one decision for one person and a different one for another despite all the variables being the same? I think that the service is terrible as I have now spent 130 pound on services that should be covered by Health Shield but they are being pedantic and not fulfilling the agreement

After recently been made a member through the firm that I work for, I claimed for an eye test & a pair of new new safety glasses. I quickly received an email back informing me that my claim was accepted, & I then received the payment back in only a matter of a few days. Highly recommended policy.

I have been with Health Shields through my work since around 2013/14 and I honestly don't know what I'd do without them. I am just so glad that a company like this exists. They are so easy to deal with and very quick to process claims. Their customer service team have been very helpful on the occasions that I have had to contact them and the sales rep that I signed up with was great. I am on level 4 and have been for about 4-5 years. I can definitely recommend them. For any employer looking for a company that enables employees to claim back money for dental, optical and physio costs and much more, get Health Shields in the door, you won't be sorry! With the NHS in its current state with the waiting times, there's no better time to use them!

I have been with Health Shied for over 2yrs. Consistently good service. Claims are processed quickly, never had any issues with receiving payments.
The app can be a bit fiddly when completing the claim form, but now I've got used to it, it's quite straightforward. There is a wide range of cover, my favourite is wellbeing which includes massages.
I would recommend this health plan.
