Had the inspector turn up today on behalf of Privilege Insurance. His job was to access damage caused in recent high winds. The guy got his piece of paper out and started rattling on with BS about the wind only reached 53MPH and not the required 55MPH. Despite media reports of winds exceeding 90MPH, and the fact it managed to take a tree down at the top of my road. Then he banged on about wear and tear and it must have been that which caused the capping to come off. Then i end up with this half arsed email which doesn't really explain much. See below..

Steer well clear of this company. The call operators have a terrible attitude (that’s if you can get them to answer the phone). They never do what they say they are going to do. The assessors or loss adjusters do not spend enough time looking at the work needed which results in a cost of works being so far away from reality it’s crazy. The amount they charge the insurance company is double the cash offer you get I know this as my insurance company disclosed the figure in error. This company is scamming people out of money when they are at their lowest point. You pay insurance in good faith and all I expect is a fair payout when needed. 5 weeks after the claim was reported and still not had an offer in writing or a scope of works……. Disgusting how a company can treat someone like this.

Were requested by my soon to be last insurance company to assess storm damage to ridge tiles.Their employee complete with extended camera carried out a 2 minute check and quickly came to the conclusion that it was due to wear and tear ,not the fact one of the strongest storms in the last 10 years had occurred together with other intense ones the past month.
Must be an insurers dream to have this company working for them.A worrying thought should something very serious occur to my property.A waste of time.

They just do not respond to anything. Reported damage with LV who had HRNL appointed. I have spent months trying to get hold of them over phone and over email, to appoint their contractors and pay excess. I had one call back from them in two months which I missed as I was travelling, I've called everyday since, have I been able to speak to anyone? NO!

Just had a claim declined on a leak after heavy rainfall and winds. Been told it's wear and tear like all the other reviews, except this building was built under 3 years ago.
Had a builder come by who said it's all fine, however when heavy rain is paired with heavy winds; the water is being pushed up. Storm damage. Will take the matter up with them legally.

Scammers. Waiting in all day with a newborn baby. Lee McKane was meant to be coming to asses our insurance claim. Claimed I wasn’t home despite waiting in all day, calling and texting him. Showed up, took a photo of our front door to prove he was there, then left without even ringing the doorbell, likely to finish his day sooner. Never called or text me.

As with so many others on here, damage caused following a serious storm and torrential rain was considered 'wear and tear'. We were also informed there was no internal damage even though the water stains from the flooding were clear on both the ceiling and walls. Complete scam.
