I visited the Norwich branch to enquire about fixing my cash ISA. Although the branch seemed busy, as it was the first working day of the tax year, I was acknowledged immediately upon my arrival by Oliver on the customer enquiries point. After he took my details he confirmed I could have an appointment with an adviser within about 15 minutes, which was a pleasant surprise as I thought I would have to return another day.
My appointment was with Millie, who was excellent; professional, knowledgeable and competent in dealing with my transaction. She was also very calm and relaxed and had a genuinely friendly style and building up a good repport, which are all excellent qualities in customer services.
I had, until recently, worked in a similar customer facing role in financial services, and Millie showed all the qualities that were expected from us.
If I were a mystery shopper, both Millie and Oliver would get excellent scores for friendliness, product knowledge and quality of service.
Great service from both members of staff.

please keep your excellent counter services, i couldn't manage without them sometimes. open for longer please. the anti fraud team have been very efficient as well, when there are so many scams on the internet. we need this level of anti fraud.

Amazing costumer service, Oliver was really good with me and my family, totally understood my that mom does not speak english and it treated us well and with a lot of patience. He should definitely get a raise or a promotion something like that!!

Due to a HSBC technical glitch I was unable to transfer some funds over the phone so had to visit London Street Norwich branch - I was none too pleased. However - I was taken care of by the lovely Marie and on balance I’m glad I went in for a face to face transaction rather than the more impersonal phone conversation.
Marie was sympathetic, professional and knowledgable. Thanks Marie, you saved the day.

I came in hopeful and looking for help, and left the bank disappointed and embarrassed with the staff member who served me. Glad I chose to close my account with this bank, although it used to have a reputation of being professional and efficient.

This was 14th Dec 2024 about 1.30pm.
We went with my auntie to open for her basic bank account with HSBS.Josh was the one who start serving us.First of all he was no happy from my auntie proof of address-maybe as he was generally not happy to serve us…Then he took us to the room and told us to go back home to bring my council tax bill and then I will be able to declare that my auntie live with me.I said to Josh that is long journey to go back now and what sort of guarantee we have that this will help to open my auntie account.He said by his not happy voice that it will definitely help.I asked him if he can add additional information about what he advised us incase something will go wrong but he said that as soon as anybody will open the system,will be able to see everything—which was not true!!!!We run like a headless chicken to home to collect necessary paperwork which Josh requested,plus it was Friday and was already late and mega busy on the road.But real fun start when we came back 🤦‍♀️When we came to the bank,Josh was at the front,so I straight away run to him to tell him that we are here ready with paperwork to continue to open auntie bank account.He really didn’t even blink at us,only what he said was -take a seat on the waiting area.When we waiting for Josh to call us,different gentleman came (black gentleman Michael) and told us to follow him.I was surprised as I clearly saw Josh that he was not busy at all so he could easily serve us.We passed him and I mentioned to Josh if he told everything to Michael about the situation,he was not happy to answer so I wasn’t sure if that was Yes or Not.When Michael take us to the room I start my question,if he knows everything and if Josh passed to him all necessary information about our situation.Michael said that he completely don’t know what happened previously and Josh did not said anything to him so he is not aware what’s going on.I was so enjoying and briefly told Michael about experience with Josh and what Josh advised us which we did.Michael admits that it’s very unprofessional from Josh,a specially that he is not busy at all.He even pinching for Josh message on Team but Josh was still not responsible enough to come and finish what he start.Michael eventually said that council tax bill is not helpful anyway us I don’t have with HSBC bank account.He said that he is very impressed that Josh ask me to go home for this paperwork before even to double check first if I have account with HSBC.Michael said that Josh basically waisted our time.We was soo disappointed so unhappy and to be honest it was not professional from Josh at all.He was rude and he left clients which wrong advice with someone else to not even bother to come and say SORRY. Josh by my opinion is wrong person on wrong position with no manner and disrespectful to customers.We finally left HSBS at 4.10pm with nothing.We run to Nationwide to St.Steven Street and within a 30min lovely lady opened for us account with no issues whatsoever.And silly council tax bill was not necessary. You simply lost your client because of unprofessional and unskilled Josh knowledge. People like Josh shouldn’t work for your bank. I always thought that HSBC is very professional bank and that’s was only the reason that I pick your bank but with no luck 😧
