Older man who works behind the counter is a thorough gentleman, wonderful customer service skills, couldn't fault him. However on my visit today, was served my a very unpleasant female with no customer service skills whatsoever. Very rude and abrupt in manner. No please or thank you, just threw receipt at me. Will avoid using this post office again and will use Longview. Staff much more pleasant and helpful.

The eastern european lady seemed not to understand my simple request about international postage and was growing increasingly exasperated as I asked her to clarify her vague responses. In the end it was too much trouble for her to assist a customer rather than process a sale, and when I advised i would take my query to another post office as she was unable/unwilling to assist, she gesticulated wildly to her colleague and stated that her computer system was not intended to be used for searching for pricing and dimensions for international postage as I was asking. Overall a very negative experience.

I must also comment that if you have a large winding queue in the shop and a staff member wandering seemingly aimlessly around the staff area of the counter rather than serve, you invite much of the frustration and displeasure that I've often seen channeled in the shop.

The reviews here seem pretty negative, so I thought I should write about how good my recent experience was.

Contrary to what is written in the other reviews, the staff were very helpful in getting me the best offer for what I needed. They did mention the more expensive option but told me the other options too.

Also, the gent serving me, Bob, was happy to write the address for me as my handwriting is awful.

Good experience overall.

I went Wednesday 20th March to post an Amazon parcel.Customer service was disgusting.The parcel code didn’t scan straight away.Instead of the man asking me politely to hold phone closer to the glass he banged loudly on the glass.I work in a shop doing parcels and I would never treat the impatient nasty ones the way he treated me.let alone normal pleasant people of which I consider myself to be one.He had the most miserable nasty looking face all the way through.Said thanks at end which surprised me.He was lucky my sister wasn’t with me she’d have given him both barrels.Think he needs another job not facing public.Won’t be using that post office again

The man that served me choose to ignore what I said!! I wanted a card sent to arrive the next day. He said that’s £6.60 I said No!! Way I’ll just have a first class stamp, While I’m saying this he had already put the £6.60 stamp on my card!! I was fuming!! I ended up paying it! Then I phoned my daughter today to see if she got my card she said NO!!! So I’ve paid £6.60 for no reason! I’ve just been ripped off!!!!

Opening times listed on the shop door and more importantly online are just a "suggested" time of opening, having arrived 4 times on different occasions to either post a parcel or pick up a delivery at the supposed times of opening only to find it closed. When you can finally get let in the post office expect shoddy service, over priced goods, poor product knowledge of the service they're selling and an aggressive attitude to purchase the most expensive option. This is the reason why royal mail are going down the pan.

Absolutely amazing customer service, I wouldn’t go anywhere else, bob and Jane are especially exceptional and are always going above and beyond to help anyone, always happy and friendly and very helpful this shop would be lost without them, thank you for always giving me excellent service all year round and posting all my parcels out each day xxxx
