I needed insurance quickly last year when I was about to start a building project and hadn’t realised that my cover was not sufficient for a house having an extension built.

I got a very reasonable quote from Intelligent Insurance, arranged over the phone, with a very helpful, very personable human being. Sorted.

When I had a mains water leak in my bathroom just before Christmas, I had to use my building insurance for the first time ever.

It was a really easy process. A phone call to another lovely human being, Simon, in the Bristol office, who got the ball rolling; Matt, the loss adjuster, did a very quick survey and told me to get on with it.

A couple of emails later, and another phone call to Simon to see if he could help when the money showed no signs of arriving.

Having made the claim at the start of January, today, February 18, the money has been transferred into my account, so I can get my builder in the diary and get my house sorted out.

I’m not remaining with Intelligent Insurance because after my claim, my premium went up by 300%. I understand how things work in insurance business, I think, but that did feel like taking the mick a bit!

However, I’d like to thank Matt and Simon for the part that they played in helping me through what was quite a stressful procedure, potentially – thank you, gentlemen!

4 years and no claims made with this company. No change in our policy and they have the barefaced cheek to increase the annual renewal price from £781 to £2,843!!! We have found an equivalent policy with the Halifax £2k less. When challenged Intelligent insurance offered us a £20 reduction. Seriously ?!! Doesn’t feel that intelligent to me. Of perhaps they think their loyal customers are stupid

House Insurance costs. Make your own mind up about this company:

2023 - £220 ish
2024 - £320 ish
2025 - £770?!

In what other industry is this allowed or acceptable? I've had comparison quotes for Buildings AND Contents insurance, for £200.

I wont even contact them and haggle, as they do not deserve the business.

UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE
Contacted insurers regarding
a claim in September sent photo as requested however all they do is ask questions and talk, after numerous conversations they still have not to attended to asses or progress my claim, I am no longer interested with there delay tactics. The problem is progressing yet when I advised them no appointment has been made to attend. There actions so far is to manipulate the customer, this i will not tolerate.
My calls are also locked into the loss adjusters Sedgwick to manage as the insurance company, intelligent who are clearly not intelligent never respond or pick up my calls, I have made a formal complaint via Sedgwick but so far no response has been received. This company is totally incompetent. The claim should have been assessed within days and the job should be completed by now, it has now exceeded six weeks
I will however be escalating this issue externally as I am no longer interested in they're lame behaviour.

Please avoid as they charge £50 as so called "non-refundable arrangement fee" if you change your mind or plan to cancel your insurance policy within the 14 days cooling off period. So once you get the insurance, you are trapped and you wont get the complete refund of how much ever you paid for the insurance. And on top of it premium is too expensive.

No service on a web chat as Natalie realised that its the end of her shift, so she diconnected. Inflated 3 x on premium and with restricted clauses. I know that its a wild west when it comes to insurance, but com-on. I signed up with your cousins for atleast on a cheaper premium.

I bought this Home Insurance, but their website does not have any phoneline CustomerCare or Claims number. Also they are closed on weekends which does not help at all for a service provider in the Home Insurance business.

Quite possibly the worst people ever to deal with, use 3 different companies to deal with claims. Funnily enough 3 of the worst reviewed companies ever. Do not use unless you have a solicitor in the family.
